I'm eternally thankful that I have the digestive system of a goat. If you look up a pace calculator, 100K over 17 hours is roughly 16 and a half minutes a mile. Thats like a really really fast walk, or a super super slow run. When i was a beginner at 12 years old I was running a 15 minute over the course of one mile (cause obv a beginner usually can barely run more than a mile at a time.) The pace he was going at was actually incredibly impressive given the distance he ran, but there were rest stations and im sure he trained for an incredibly long time. I don't think it would be too unbearable if you invest a lot of time and effort into the sport.

I remember my first 100k, granted it was only 10 months ago. I finished in 16h 14min, I ate so much brisket, pancakes, bacon, candy, fruits, PB and J sandwiches, etc. that I think I ended the day with a calorie surplus. My course wasn't quite so hilly as this one, but I'm still proud to have finished it at 17 years old.

I was one of the runners this year in Yllä-Pallas nuts 100k ultra as well this year, I finished at around 14 hours. I can only imagine how tough it was to fight through those stomach issues and it shows how strong you are as well. As someone who overcame obesity 3.5 years ago and becoming a tough ultra runner It truly is as you said yourself venturing a journey into oneself and exploring that.
