I had a phase where I wanted to get into modeling Irish railways, I use to spend hours just looking at the layouts in Hornby magazines, and how they all came together. The animation you did for showing the trains go around the layout was really cool and also lol, I liked that little cameo from The Good Old Days 2!

Quite an interesting layout. Glad you're getting plenty of what you want in it. If I may make a suggestion, I think some sort of scene break would be important between the original layout and the reverse loop section. It seems a tad crowded, but that could just be me.

I will sound very weird, but this layout made my appreciate Rev. Audrey and David Mitten's geniuses even more. This is clearly very Thomas-esque layout, but in the same time I can imagine it in it's final form... And it could be extremely realistic, even while being slightly overboard in nostalgy department.

This layout looks incredible. If you ever feel like expanding it beyond the current two additions, I think an industrial area would be a good fit as well. This might be one of my favorite layouts I’ve ever seen, and a new Tugs Trains always brings a smile to my face. Hope we see the Scottish Twins make an appearance next year.

It's a minor thing but I do love the editing and sound work you put into your running sessions. Seeing the different angles, and all the close ups in particular, makes it feel much more real, and the sound effects really capture the kind of thing you'd imagine happening when running the trains in person. Also very interested to see what your plans are for Edward, your current model of him is my personal favorite, even if he's not exactly accurate.

I don't plan on building a model railway because of the limited space in my house. I am building a 1:400 scale model airport though. But listening to TheUnluckyTug make his model railway is so soothing that it actually keeps me going in terms of finishing my airport. Usually I make a littke bit of progress and then end up procrastinating. When I listen to him talking about his progress on his model railway, I listen as I finish the small details on my model airport. ❤

What a Way to Go, Mr. Tug. 🤩Your creative skills have gone up a notch. Here's hoping the result fulfills your expectations as well as the ongoing video content. Here's a personal story as a child: I got a Hornby train set one Christmas. My Dad actually bought a sufficiently-sized board to put it on, so we could run it, and some other model trains (including a ready-to-run GWR 43xx Mogul) in our large garden shed. It never happened; I knew I'd be doing something pleasurable with my Dad, who I didn't feel totally connected to beyond convenience. The models have since been given away. Merry Christmas from the UK, Samuel Farris.
@aliciagallegos-alamillo672010 ай бұрын
On the 4*4 board, you should add some elevation to the track. Like a steep hill that the trains have to go over. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THAT.
@sebastianfranco452110 ай бұрын
Really creative 👌. Depends on people's interests and perspectives. Me, personally, it might make it feel like a roller coaster vibe. But, I do think it looks cool when you have locomotives passing through industrial or Victorian bridges. For example: if you ever watched The Polar Express movie, I love the scene when the train is rushing through the Christmas village at the north pole. Especially when the train is going through the brick bridges. Of course, let's not forget the amazing 1930s Christmas city. I love that vintage style.

Also tug I had another recommendation, if you want to upgrade Edward to look more like he does in the RWS books, you should flatten the running bored where the driving wheels are by cutting the raised part of the running bored off and useing card bored or wood to replace it with a flat part like the way you extended James’ running bored, and also maybe get slightly smaller splashes and also maybe get a slightly smaller boiler for Edward. You don’t have to do these if you don’t want to tug.
@MacsensRailway10 ай бұрын
The bit is removing it and making the miter and side rods fit in it with James it wasn’t any problem because the wheels were not tutching it but yeah I think he could hide the stuff in the cab I can do it Even though in 13…

@TheUnluckyTug_official Okay, I love the idea of actually taking engines out of the shed at the beginning of operating sessions. I've wanted to do that ever since I was a child, after watching TM Entertainment's video I Love Lionel and seeing a scene where Lionel train's mascot, Lennie the Lion, asks Jeff, son of TM Entertainment's founder Tom McComas, which engine he will pick to run the first train of the day as the two of them role-play real railroad jobs with Lionel trains. However, I assumed you'd need room for an entire roundhouse, completely forgetting how compact British sheds could sometimes be. Think about the beginning of the story Edward's Day Out/Edward and Gordon and the discussion about which engine "driver" will take out of the sheds that day. Just having a real shed full of engines eagerly awaiting their chance to pull a train gives the layout a sense of place and of story and of whimsy.

Thank you for showing us some more of youre progress, it's coming along wonderfully! If I had on suggestion, it would be perhaps adding an additional Narrow Gauge 009 section on the layout, like on the opposite side of the harbor you could have a Mid Sodor esc port that weaves into the countryside and then into the mountains. Seems kinda wrong not having a place for your narrow gauge engines to stretch their wheels imo.

Just throwing this out there, sky blue paint instead of the gray might probably would have been a better choice for the paint so that you could have the advantage of having the whole of the garage act as an open sky background for the display. Though, I suppose if you're setting your display in the UK, the gray does work for that sort of setting.
