I had been part of a small.audience listening to a series of lectures by an Israeli fighter pilot. We discovered that he was an American citizen. By now the group had shrunken to 5 people. The lectures continued in his home. By now we were more of a discussion group'. His Mother seeved us tea. Real tea in real teacups! Atiny frail lady as she extended her hand to pour my tea, I saw her. wrist tattoo. Suddenly much was clear to us. The next session someone in the group explained that we now understood his motivation We never mentioned the tattoo, but he knew we had seen it.. He just looked at us a moment and said Aushwitz. At that moment I lost any shred of religion I had. Germany, a Christian Western civilized nation let loose the most evil horror on mankind. The image of this tiny frail elderly lady pouring my tea is still sharp in my mind after 50 years.

Hangings often occurred in public and were used to scare other prisoners into submission. Gas chambers were a more discrete way of murdering large numbers of prisoners.

At approximately 5 mins into the video, there is a scene of female prisoners in their quarters, but what never made sense to me when ever i saw that clip in the past, is why when the Nazis were so particular and cruel, where these elderly women spared? in one clip, can be seen one woman walking with the aid of a walking stick. I always found that to be very odd, and they dont look starved either.

The British sent Albert Pierrepoint, a very experienced executioner by hanging. The Americans sent an executioner whose only execution experience was by electric chair. So when Julius Streicher was hanged, the trap was too small and the fall tore his face off.

I like documentary films about history, and i enjoy these clips, but one thing that is annoying is that your wording of ruthless execution. These executions were far from ruthless, and barbaric against these barbaric monsters that killed thousands of innocent people. Most of these monsters got off very easy in being shot, or hanged. Please stop calling the executions of these war criminals as barbaric, and ruthless. Your wording is really starting to piss me off, and I'm not even Jewish!
