As crazy as it sounds urban hiking could very well take off (seriously like hot yoga and barefoot running)! Im must emphasize how serious I am about that! At the rate of urbanization that may be all there is left to hike... Look forward to seeing more urban hiker and Rev prepper!

Thank you so much for this! I've always wondered how those dehydrated emergency meals worked and how they're prepared. I'll definitely have to consider getting some for my emergency kit.

One good trick for mountain house meals is to use one of the insulated nylon lunch bags. Drop the mylar inside, pour in the water, and close both. Shortens the "cooking" time no burns from trying to hold the pouch, and keeps it nice and warm. Might not work for gram-weenies, but some do make pouches from the mylar bubble wrap and do the same, helps them use less fuel (don't have to go to full boil).

Great video. You can divide the meal into smaller portions and add other freeze dried products. Myself, I have this box and few other items that I vacuum pack , like freeze meats, vegs, fruits etc.
@TheUrbanPrepper9 жыл бұрын
Diebulfrog79 Yeah. I think these could/should definitely be divided up to smaller meals. The chicken and rice meal was HUGE!
@Diebulfrog799 жыл бұрын
TheUrbanPrepper In the old days of freeze dried food. There was a plastic turkey bag with a outside cardboard base. You added food and hot water to the bag, sealed with a twist - tie, shake it a bit and let sit. At one time you could buy six of these bags. But when they perfected the foil bag. These bags were no longer produced.

I've been subbed to both you guys for a while, so it was cool to see you doing something together. Since there isn't a price break for that package I'll probably stick to buying the meals individually so I can choose the exact ones I want, to get more variety. I appreciate the review so I know that those 3 are good. Peace.
@TheUrbanPrepper9 жыл бұрын
TheMisterMonkeyman Thanks for watching! Yes, all three meal types were really good. I'd recommend picking them up individually so you can also include a little variety with other MH flavors.

Nice video guys.... I always find spaghetti and chicken/ rice meals need more time... I give them a good 15 minutes or so to fully hydrate. I also bring along some french bread to go with the extra pasta sauce. I freeze a Costco rotisserie chicken breast and pack that to go with the chicken/rice.

Thank you urban prepper ! This is why you should prep ! I was always a survivalist and woodsman-bushcraft guy but i got in prepping after watching your videos here , you were the first guy from whom I heard word "prepper" and I got in to it , I had much water at my house and much food (mre's and stuff like that) not to talk about my bug out bag, so I was pretty much ready for everything what could hit me so yesterday this happened , I made a fundraising to help people and animals who are in need , all of you who are reading this please help us by donating , if you can't donate just share this video on facebook or twitter this will help a lot , thank you all. Here is the link for the video and pictures , push gallery and see the video of what is happening , and the worst part is that if today it will rain it will happen again because the river has changed its way www.youcaring.com/people-and-animals-in-tbilisi-370338
