For me this song brings tears and them thoughts of my dad who married his childhood sweetheart right after completion of boot camp in 1938. Then, just as he was completing his 2 year service, was deployed away from his still new bride to the Australia in the pacific theatre to brutal fighting on island after island for the next five years before returning home with a bronze star and a purple heart. It was a war he almost never spoke about even when prompted by an eager young son. Today I still have no clue what was behind either of these medals except the purple heart was “from a mortar that landed a little to close”… ( I still have the piece of shrapnel they dug out of his back). On this 4th lets honor those brave men and women who have so proudly served this nation over its 243 years existence! God Bless the USA!

GOOSEBUMPS! I attended Lee Greenwood's concert in Knoxville during college. The whole concert was incredible but when he sang this song, it brought the house down! Every person was on their feet, most with hats off and one hand over their heart, and many with a cigarette lighter in the other. It was one of those moments so powerful, I can close my eyes and "be there" experiencing it any time I hear this song. THIS is an AMAZING new rendition!! Goosebumps all over again! THIS is what AMERICA is ... THIS is the Patriotism we need to reignite in order to defend and save the America we have known and loved before it is forever gone! The liberal left communists can tear down and destroy every statue in the country, but they can NEVER EVER touch the PATRIOT LOVE and PRIDE that REAL AMERICANS carry in our HEARTS!

Chris, brother, fellow American, as much as I also can not understand why anyone would "thumbs down" this video, you comment works against the message. America is a great nation because of the freedom we have to express ourselves. And what I believe will make us even greater is our ability to love others we disagree with. As a black man in America I want to see change happen. Why? For the sake of black people alone? No. For my country and my home. Im proud to be American and love the progress being made. I debated on writing this but decided to because this is what it takes. Strangers caring about one another enough to have conversations. I don't know you but I choose to love you. Happy Independence Day my brother.

🇺🇸I am always filled with tears of joy when I hear this very patriotic song! God Bless the USA.❤️ As immigrant refugees to this country we are extremely proud to be Americans! It is not a perfect union; but, it is the best country in the world. We fortunate to have the privilege to live here. We are thankful to those white strangers (the Picketts from Houston) who chose to sponsor my family and me to this Great Nation. Without their kind hearts & angelic actions, my family would have surely been facing further destitution and suffering. Now, we live the American Dream! Our family ran successful donut shops & restaurants! Five of the 8 refugees became doctors. No other country would have made this possible! Happy birthday America.
