Glad to hear you all are getting the supplies you need, in the PNW are I live there is one distributor of bulk supplies and they are essentially out of everything except TAP plastic. I've had to move to using bulk peatmoss, and a excel calculator I made in order to make my own custom blends of soil with a cement mixer, perlite is everywhere but I'm having the hardest time finding vermiculite for anything less than 250% the cost of what it was last year, which has me considering the extra cost of coco coir over peat for it's ability to hold more moisture. Fortunately I am not wholeselling and everything I grow stays on property, it's working out real well, been making 1.2-2-1 starter mix with alfalfa pellets as a 33% of the nutrition for the hormone it provides to seedlings, and I'll let it "ferment" for 1.5 months while I put a bunch of red wiggler worms in, and it's doing some amazing work for my starts, they're bigger than the promix I used to use, yet the roots are not even 50% to root bound. I might be switching to a blend of coco/peat because I've heard that there is a shortage of peat coming from canada, but we will see.

I was watching some of the past videos of you guys picking vegetables and was wondering what you do with all the plants after you've picked the crop? Do you leave them in the field to decompose or till them under? Nice to find stuff to watch these days that is not only entertaining but actually teaches us something.

I must get started with some Snap Dragons too. I wish I could have a machine that put one seed into each module. I just love how you all work together to get the planting done, it is like a ballet. What about some music it would be less boring. Hopefully those geese know the weather is going to warm up and so they are on the move, it's a good omen. We have lots of daffodils now, I went out and fed them today in the rain. Why don't you use the cookie monster to fill the seed trays?
@thirzapeevey23952 жыл бұрын
So dumb question, but was there an old railroad line running through your parking lot? Glad you were able to find soil. I guess I'm lucky that I laid in an extra bag for my seed starting last fall. It should be enough to get us through. I'm just about ready to set out my cabbages, broccoli, and cauliflower in my backyard poly tunnels. I've got 4-6 inch tall plants ready to go. I've got to plant my tomatoes and peppers tomorrow.
