As a gay man, I would have been saved a lot of heartache and difficulty if songs like this had been on the radio when I was a kid.

Why is that exactly if I may ask?
@r0ckmom5 ай бұрын
@@leif1075Because queer people haven’t felt comfortable sharing these sorts of niche experiences like unrequited gay crushes on seemingly straight peers, it’s good to see it happening now because it’s inspiring confidence in people who grew up at a time where being gay wasn’t an ok thing. It’s cathartic, I think.
@leif10755 ай бұрын
@@r0ckmomoh thanks for answering and sharing. It's even more sad It's still an issue. And indidnt realize in the song and video his crush is straight or perhaps not...and another issue is ppl still aren't OK with ppl being polyamorous or other things that aren't traditional.

I feel like I've been transported back to a concert with one of those singer-songwriters from the 70s--Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne, etc. A lot of groovy folksy vibes. A brilliant move on his part.

...and woman. Wow. This brought up so many painful, anguishing memories. And I'm in my 70's. Aside from that, what a masterful song-writer he is.
@leif10755 ай бұрын
Hownis it relatable to every gay man exactly? And what makes it masterful?
@JanFrederikdeKlerk5 ай бұрын
@@leif1075 if you don't get within the song then you won't get at all. But from my perspective if you watch the official music video of this song you will see that this song is about a gay boy who really likes a boy who is straight most if not all gay men I know had a crush on straight men. And even thou we life in modern times this is a secret that every gay boy/man must keep for multiple obvious reasons. When it comes to Ben Platt his talent is only outmatched by his relatable humanity and modesty. He writes, compose and sings music that would effortlessly fit into the best music of a bygone era but yet it's catching which makes relevant to today's youngsters. This makes him yes a master of his graft. If you listen and look properly his music mirrors music of the big musicians who stood the test of time. Elton John, Barry Gibbs, Freddie Mercury Paul McCartney, John Lennon just to name a few. I also find that this specific song is extremely haunting and lingering and find myself often humming the tune which in turns prove my point of its lasting longevity.

I should also add this man sings with so much emotion which transcends to the listener. Music comes from every fibre of his DNA
