Small Lixada stove is perfect to use with a Trangia burner. The same stove also burns twigs etc, when allowed. I use the Lixada stove with a boot polish tin and a coil of stove rope inside. This allows me to use meths or ethanol fluid. Without the rope I can use ethanol gel or solid fuel tabs. All round versatility. Many thanks for all the good work you do. 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Bjorn, Great video as always. I have played with all kinds of stoves over the years including the Canister Stoves, the Trangia's and their copies, Wood Stoves etc. While all of the are good in their own way I always seem to go back to the SVEA 123. It just works in all conditions I have used it in. Those Thermo Cells are great. I use them here in Bug Central. (Southern Florida) and I haven't been bitten since I started using them.

Yep .. the SVEA 123 is a great stove 👍. I have an Optimus 8R (uses the same burner mechanism as the SVEA). 45 years young and with only recent a graphite packing replacement during this period, still going strong 😊.

How fun! 2 Years ago when camping was busier even here. Hopefully summer of 2021 will provide opportunities. The well known ‘Boondocker’ Bob Wells, says ‘A Tent Holds a Space’! I always keep one. This one looks similar to my NTK Colorado (3-4 person). Excellent quality but I’m looking for a car camping tent where I can stand up inside. I like your beautiful Norwegian forests and the cool Rock slab for tenting. An REI inflatable pad would definitely add comfort! 😊 Thank You for a look ‘back’ before the ‘crazy times’!

I have the same problem with hammocks; I am a restless sleeper and also sleep on my stomach. I ran across a company in Norway called Amok and just got one of their Draumr XL models which allows for a 90 degree flat lay to accomodate stomach sleepers. So far, I love it and find it quite comfortable. It isn't cheap, but no good sleep system seems to be these days.

Don't forget he basics of basics like good bug dope and lots of it eh, LOL. Meningitis from tics is as serious a situation up here. I have seen 2 deaths here from a good friends families. Who cares if it is sticky and smelly. Use it or die eh. Staying out from under the trees is important as well as they will drop down on you. I will often light a big piece of a bug coil a long time before tucking in. In summer it is so important to tend our fires. We have already had some small ones here in BC. I was smoked in all last summer. Vis at about a km. Ick on that. That rock sure needs a bunch of padding for my old bones eh. Great to see you bud. Take care and hope to see you soon friend

Hi Bjorn, your ideas are endless and always great! I love the stove, I think I’m going to have to get myself one. However, I think maybe we should invest in high quality tents and look after them instead of buying multiple cheap ones. It’s important to respect nature’s resources! Maybe a canvas tent is a solution? Thank you for another great video, as always you’re a great steward to show us ways of respecting nature while enjoying it. I’m hoping to pick up your book while I’m in Oslo :) Till the next video

Interesting Bjorn, thank you. We too have had little rain and no lying snow in this part of the UK over winter, so no doubt there will be a water ration...i.e no hosepipes before long. Bjorn, a question about your country's fire ban. I guess you can't burn wood in open fires, but as you're using a meths burner in a firebox, can you not use wood in a firebox? What are the terms of the fire ban? PS We call your tent a 'beach shelter', literally something to keep the wind and sun off you on a visit to the seaside!

I will write in English for your viewers. First of all Kerosin is parafin not alcohol, guess you know but I mention it for the viewers. For only 400 kroner I might have bought that tent for a festival were I am expected to ruin it, but honestly its a horrible tent, and way to short for you. As long as your body touches the sides its too short and in rain you will get a vet sleeping bag. I use a similar stove with a trangia burner just like you. The fuel problem you experienced can happen, nothing to be ashamed about since you still could burn wood (if there was no fire ban), the thing is that candles is a very good thing to keep in the woods, I bought 4 cheap short candles that I put inside the stove and they can boil water, they last for 8-10 hours and got them for 20 kroner at a cheap store. One candle alone brings out the same amount of heat as one person, so with you and one candle you send out the same amount of heat as 2 persons and in a small tent like that you should do fine. I dont use sleeping bags during summer only a army woolen blanket, it dont burn well and gives you heat even if vet. Its very multi purpose since you can build shelters with it or wear it as a cape on them cold days. The ticks my doctor handled with a shot of vaccine, but I do use a bug net over my hammock to keep the other flying assholes away. Keep up the good work Sir.
