The military micro by Viper at 7:00 was insane and maybe even game winning. I get why T90 was criticizing him for not walling but it's almost like he left himself open because he WANTED Yo to come in and fight him, because he was so confident he has the superior micro and would win the fight. And guess what, he did. Edit: he started the fight with 1 less military unit but had a 7:0 KD there wtf man just viper things...

That's also because archer + scout is the best unit combo in feudal age. And he is vs spear + skirm. Most good players would win this fight with vipers units (but maybe not as convincingly).

Some may say the forward map control castle was a mistake on Viper's part, but I actually think it's genius. It made Yo show his hand, and it pushed Yo to focus that castle that was far away from Viper's eco meaning he didn't even have to bother defending it or putting up a resistance, he just had to let Yo do his thing while he massed elephants everywhere else on the map in prep of the steamroll. If that castle had been next to his eco, it could have given Yo the incentive to push harder before Viper was ready, and force Viper to stay and defend his base. Low key a 5head move in retrospect. Viper never had to play for map control when going Eles, he just had to ensure the fight wasn't taken to his own base before he could mass units.

I think the 5head move was positioning the castle in a way that made it least likely Yo would spot the stables. When the elephant were rolling it was to late.

It's funny because Viper even deleted vills at the end of the game for more pop space. You can see the dead vills at 21:02 right next to the tc. This game was hilarious no matter where you look at

I think Yo's chances for a win here likely hinged on the following: -Even though his civ doesn't have fully upgraded halbs, they still do relatively well against eles. I had to look up the stats because my buddy plays Hindustanis a lot and his top-grade pikes still have good bonuses against eles. Trash is also cheaper -He could have went camel for the eles -He did get to 111 eco, but he probably should have gone higher knowing he was going against Viper, who often goes 150-160 eco. With the big eco diff, he couldn't fight back even if he wanted to -Like I tell my bud when he is playing... keep it up with his regular fight, but sprinkle hussar raids in on the side to keep the home front pressure on while fighting on the front lines I've watched you cast a lot of Yo games, including Viper against Yo, and Yo is absolutely one of the very best. I was surprised to see the end result of this game the way it went down.

Well they deal 25 damage to those elephant while Vietnamese Elephant have 420 Hp which take like 16 hit to kill them so i dont think they that must effective to stop a mass Elephant like in this game. I think monk it better option here unit Viper get Faith or thunk to snipe those monk.

You can always tell when the game is over by looking at eco. X2 eco..98.5% of the time you’re right. 1.5X 87% if you ever hit x2. You basically win. If you ever have 1.5x and don’t disconnect or otherwise blackout on your keyboard. You win. This almost never changes.

I really dont understand how you guys find this instant-boom-upon-Castle-Age meta watchable. It's the same prolonged Feudal Age with pseudo aggression (cause none truly commits, plus Trush is dead for years) followed by gigantic Wooden-Arena walls, and then massive amount of TC's in Castle Age, almost instantly. The days of forward Siege or Fastish Imp Arbs are dead. AOE II these days is about macro, I feel bad for the casters who had to fake the hype going and provide real time commentatory. It's amazing how devs have managed to ruin the game in just 3 years.

However, it's too dominant, it's a textbook behavior, the mandatory nature of this boomy meta gives no room for other gameplans and win conditions, we're at a point of no diversity, which wasn't the case 3 years ago. All rooted in civ design and more importantly- map design.
