Thank you Viperian I really appreciate that you still are doing ctr videos, this game is on discount on the ps store so I'm sure a lot of people will join the game, I hope this game never dies. About my opinion on the tracks, if someone is a newbie the my first track would be slide coliseum with drift driving style, so I can learn how to drift boos perfectly, then I'll move on to tiny temple to learn how to keep blue flame on, then with your newly acquired skills try beat trophy and oxide, and maybe Velo, win some online matches, and the try move onto speed class, and repeat process again.

I can't explain why I'm still watching these videos, even after dropping out of CTR entirely for the time being. Something about your vids really gets me, idk. But I'll try to keep this in mind if I get back into the game lol.

I'm embarrassed to say that the two things I did that caused me to improve the most had nothing to do with practice. 1. I remapped the down button to LZ/L2, unmapped the up button (for U turning), and duplicated the right button to RZ/R2 (for the new, controversial speed ghost tech). 2. I changed by TV settings to game mode. I found out I had been playing with a huge amount of video lag due to using a switch and a Samsung TV (seriously, I played like this for at least 5 months, wondering why I was having trouble with precision techniques). Once I made those changes and got used to them, I was able to plow through the rest of the dev times and get some pretty decent spots on the leaderboards. Overall though, this was pretty spot on (maybe aside from drive thru danger). I just thought it was worth mentioning that there are a few additional steps worth considering before practicing, because quality is more important than quantity when it comes to practice.

Very nice and Informative video, I am busy a lot and don't get to play CTR as much as I want. But I will be free these next 2 days. I am currently 16 tracks away from the master wheels. Since I am not good at u turning with the analog stick. I might start to try using the directional pads in certain sections of the tracks so that I am able to beat those tracks. Hopefully I can beat 30 tracks by the end of tomorrow. Thanks again for your videos.
@heldon79514 жыл бұрын
Honestly I think Cortex Castle is one of the most challenging tracks. You're going incredibly fast and u-turning is required to handle most of the twists and turns. Not to mention it's hard to find places to get good drift boosts with all the turns. Not to mention there's plenty of small things you can do to improve your time like the spiders or cutting small corners

Something I forgot to point out. Use the D-pad(yeah, like the old days back on PS1), DO NOT use the analog stick, it won't help you with U-turning.

I think for the real beginners tracks like Coco park could do well to just practice drift boosting, it is very wide, thus fairly forgiving if you screw it up. Tiny Temple is good for learning to maintain blue fire, as it is also very wide and the turns are not bad if you can drift boost (except for the one before the blue fire pad). Beating Oxide in Tiny Temple last year really taught me a lot about the mechanics.

I fully agree with Thunder truck in the top spot, but Drive - Thru Danger honestly tests a little bit of everything. While I used to be intimidated by Gingerbread Joyride, I can say that those two should probably be swapped. Drive-Thru is notably more technical and Joyride is more of an honorable mention. Also, you are an absolute mad lad putting Slide Coliseum in the beginner section. At a low level of play, it isn't too bad at all. For optimal play (faster than dev time), it is notoriously technical. Strongly disagree with its placement.

Kinda funny, I think I can be placed as an intermediary player but and lately I was practicing at Thunderstruck, Cortex’s Castle and now on Oxide Station but something I really need to learn is the Dragon Mines shortcut and the cloudy shortcut at Hot Air Skyway. ---------- Edit: Dragon mines shortcut, learned with Viperian’s video, thank you so much kindly sir.

I have a couple of my own notes for any new players that read this. 1: U-Turning is definitely a good thing to learn but if you're like me and can't get the hang of it then Air Braking can help. You can even do a discount U-Turn by rapidly spamming Air Brake. 2: While Speed is likely the best Class, you can pick the Class that feels best to you. I personally play Balanced. You can also have different Classes that you like playing for different tracks. 3: It's likely that, unless you are absolutely good at the game, Speed and Drift are probably needed to beat a good majority of the Dev Times. I have beaten the Cortex Castle Dev Time with Balanced and it wasn't easy so the extra speed from Speed and Drift is very nice if you can handle it. 4: If you have trouble understanding the turns of a track try the track in Mirror Mode at least once. I could not wrap my head around Megamix Mania in its regular form but I absolutely love and dominate it on Mirror Mode.

PiscesGamer98 hey man! Consider learning the speed engine or the drift one, accel isn’t too bad but in ctr stricter turning is actually better, lines are far more straight when drift boosting and it’s honestly easier to chain multiple drifts together using a more “advanced” class. Better turning is actually counter intuitive to the mechanics of the game

@azazel1664 жыл бұрын
@@TheRusty7 For me, Megamix Mania was the easiest of those three(despite all the crap on the track to deter you). Out of Time was quite something, the second shortcut(the fence) was the deciding factor of the entire race, losing blue fire on that would mean the end. But if you manage to keep it until halfway of the final lap, then you have won(as Velo loses his blue fire on the third lap). Now Gingerbread Joyride, I don't even know where to begin when it comes to describing this track. @@Aperson-tg4hf You can, I myself thought that I'd never do, but I did learn it after some practice. First of all, DO NOT use the analog stick, EVER, use the D-pad. Try Dragon Mines at first, as soon as you get to the turning of the corkscrew, hold down the breaks, along with down and right on the D-pad and press R1(RB on Xbox) repeatedly. Then try Electron Avenue, the first shortcut requires you to do an air-break which is an airborne U-turn, here instead of pressing R1 to hop repeatedly, you are going to use it once for the jump as soon as you hit the Turbo Pad, then immediately hold down the breaks along with down and right on the D-pad.
