I'm so glad you mentioned the pastel getting to you that way, because I'm just experimenting with them now and kept thinking, it feels like I'm having trouble breathing, what's going on. I do have asthma, but was also hoping it had didn't have to do with these, because I'm really enjoying them. I will have to wear a mask too.

Oak island is a beautiful place. I like taking the ferry to the the island and spend a while there. 🙂

That was lovely! I got enthusiastically into pastels before realising the large number of colors required as against the ease of mixing colrs in watercolours. And how to protect the finished painting

25:21 you are totally right Pastelmat is brutally and insanely expensive. In my city most, if not all (reputed) pastel artists use black “Plakatkarton” which is available from Müller drugstores: $1.5 a sheet of 48x68cm 380gsm. Only black is ok.

Thank you for the enjoyable program. Although I always learn something profitable for my work in general, I probably will never use pastels because of my allergies. (I could never touch or be around much chalk even as a child let alone breathe its dust)

Your pronunciation is quite accurate and acceptable-it is simply a phonetic interpretation of the spelling of the word-in the opinion of this Texan.

HI, I VERY NEW AT DRAWING. I'M GOING ON WHAT I LEARN FROM YOU. I HAVE A QUESTION PLEASE. I HAVE 3 DIFFERENT COLOR PENCIL SETS AND ONE WHITE SHARPIE PEN. I HAVE TRIED AND TRIED TO GET THE WHITE COLOR PENCILS AND THE WHITE PEN TO COLOR WHITE BUT, IT'S LIKE COLORING IN THE AIR. THERE ARE THE EYES THAT NEEDS SOME WHITE AND THE WATERFALL NEEDS SOME WHITE BUT, I CAN NOT GET THEM TO COLOR WHITE. THE WHITE COLOR PENCILS ARE USELESS. COULD YOU PLEASE HELP ME I'M GOING UP THE WALL TRYING TO FIND A WHITE COLOR THAT WILL COLOR ALOT OF WHITE. PLEASE HELP ME.

I have a white gel pen that works for thin white lines. And white goache for larger areas but I seal the painting first with fixative before the goache. Yes, the only thing that white colored pencils are good for is to lay some white down in areas that you want to keep lighter before layering your colors. Btw I only use the fixative for pencil, pastel and charcoal drawings but it actually might be good for colored pencil drawings too. I hope they answer your question and mine. Enjoy your painting.
