Extremely unique voice. I was not expecting that at all.... I saw it on my yt feed in a silent mode scroll. But then I saw the judges turning so I decided to listen. I did not expect to hear that voice from that persona.

Good god. I haven’t had a voice in a good while that literally is making me weep with every song. And I seriously love the range he is able to bring that god given gift, that voice…He IS the voice. Anyone who thought he was a one-note wonder in the beginning is now choking on their words. Good luck to dude! I hope to see some original music popping up on KZbin real soon…and with millions of views! Maybe along the lines of the intrepid Loreen and certainly Billie Eilish as he’s already shown, along with a touch of the Pink Pony Lady…probably not one of her nicknames or stage names, but you know who I’m talking about) but perfected in his tongue. 🤙🏼

I think perhaps because he sang a lot of “ note runs” on single syllable words. Interesting that Guy & Skye discussed that. “ Scared to hold a note” Skye said. He does have great flexibility and pitch control in his voice and “ tone” is something you like Or don’t like on a personal level. Appropriate Emotional connection and delivery of the lyrics is prime or even more important than technical excellence and he does have that. Lots of “ great singers” I’m not keen on either.

I can’t believe that Skye picked Guy!!! Is it that their names rhyme?!?!? I thought that Adam would be the right choice or maybe LeAnn as she also has a voice and star power. I didn’t even know he was or the other one & looked him up and saw that Guy had done reality sing competition shows and so had a similar experience but then remembered that Adam did so as well - I had momentarily forgotten about it because he has achieved so so much more, internationally too. The other nobody judge basically called Skye a Freak and Guy said that the most important thing Skye has is uniqueness - which I think is also code for being a Freak! Plus Guy didn’t get Skye to the winning position!

That “ other nobody judge” has one of the world’s similarly “ freakish voices” within popular music. If you ever have an opportunity to hear her in concert somewhere. Kate’s versatility and vocal expression is as unique as Skye’s and her collaborative /creative projects over the past decade or so have been many and varied, from singing with Symphony Orchestras to representing Australia at Eurovision in 2019 qualifying 1st place in the Semi Finals & 9th in the Final… and Australia is the only non European country “ invited to enter” that competition!

@@chrisk5651 Skye could have picked any of the four judges for any number of reasons. I think any one of them may have worked for him. It was Skye’s own reasons to choose. I’m not sure what Leanne’s credentials are as a “ singing coach in terms of teaching/mentoring in terms of technique or presentation” but Guy & Kate do. Adam, yes a showman & winner of American Idol but maybe too “ out there” for quiet Skye. He would have watched Guy work with previous contestants over a number of years so maybe felt more connected to a coach from his own country as well? Kate M-H is transparently always herself. There’s no “ gush /hype” in her communications & when she says “ unique” she means what that word means as per the Dictionary. It’s not a “ code word” for “ freak” at all. Unique means “individual and one of a kind”. There is not such thing as “ very unique” as you often hear people say. Something or someone is unique or is not. When Kate says “ freak or freakish” it’s a reference to some quality within Skye’s voice quality or performance ability which is way out of the norm, particularly for someone who is allegedly “ self taught”. Kate knows what’s required technically to achieve some of the vocal performance qualities Skye demonstrated. She Is herself a highly trained singer with both operatic vocal training behind her but chose original songwriting and popular performance as her career. 🙂

I think Skye lost because Guy made the finals all about himself. He didn't really allow Skye to shine for the last time on stage. I knew Skye picked the wrong coach from the start.
