@@jelvstv3643 If there is a kid who sings really good the coaches can block each other. If a coach is blocked that means that tha kid who is singing can't get in her/his team, meaning that the other coaches have more chances of geting a great voice in their team

Not so much fun if you're a contestant and the coach you want gets blocked by one of the other bozos. To block a coach who is obviously a great fit for the contestant is a major dick move.

I think it’s the worst part of the Show and I‘m happy that some countries don‘t use this format. There is artists who would love to work with a specific coach like John and then they are denied because someone random like Nick Jonas denied them. Yes it’s a show and they tried to make it more exciting but I find it displaced.

It makes sense in some form as that’s probably the show trying to be a little different than other versions so it’s not just the same also in Australia they get 2 blocks instead of one (not sure if it changed in later seasons)

I know I'm going to be a sourpuss here, but I cannot help it. I despise the blocking! The blocking is merely there for the coaches to have fun, not the contestants. These people that audition and have put so much work, rehearsal, into it may have been targeting their favourite artist hoping they will turn. If that artist does indeed turn for them, imagine how thrilled and excited that contestant would be right up until they see that that performer has been blocked. I think that's pretty shitty. Bottom line is, if the coach that the contestant came for, did indeed turn for them, then they have the right to choose them as a mentor. The blocking is ridiculous, and needs to go.

I get your point, but you have to say that the people auditioning would be lucky to have an opportunity to work with any of the judges in their respective shows. You don't really have the opportunity to choose their favorite mentors most of the time, and with the judges hearing so many voices in a few sittings, this helps them strategize more. Plus you've got to realize that this is still a TV show and this brings more interest. Personally, they could've found a better way to utilize this sorta thing, but I don't despise it. It doesn't hinder the artist as much as you think it does.

I love it! In some seasons, 1-2 coaches are the most popular and it seems like everyone wants to join the same team. The block button can change that! It also brings people away from the idea of choosing a coach that is familiar with the same genre as the contestant, and lets artists explore different kind of music. Also: never meet your idol😂 I think anyone can be a good coach for someone even if their styles of music dont match, maybe even better then

Why can some versions block people after they turned? The US version you have to block someone BEFORE they turn. Once they turn, they can't be blocked.

There are different ways of blokking, one who turn and see the block, one who can block people who are turned and by other it's the person who is blocked can not turn when they push the button. And I think that the Dutch the only ones are without the blocking system. .

In some versions of the voice they added the "block" (the small buttons on their desks). Coach can use it to block any other coach. Contestant can't join the team of the coach that has been blocked.
