And he has probably the least experience out of any of the contestants. «I have always loved to sing, but liked to do it alone because I have been so negative towards myself. I never wanted to bother anyone with my singing, so I have therefore rather kept the song inside - perhaps even stopped to sing altogether - several times. I mostly sang in the shower and in front of the mirror by myself. Another Love» by Tom Odell, is a song that means a lot to me. This week's theme is youth/adolescence. - I experienced a lot of pain in my youth. In this song I sing about having used up everything I have on "another". Not necessarily a person, but a feeling.» You can say he is too good for The Voice, but without The Voice we might not even have heard his voice at all. The Voice has given him a lot of confidence and he has developed a lot. He said this before the blind audition: «I made the flower top I’m wearing inspired by a picture my great-grandmother had painted for me and as a christening gift. He has the same cape, hairstyle, leafs in his hair… About his performance of the song «The ballet girl»: «Grandma heard it on the radio a long time ago and she said it reminded her of me. She sent me this song and said she thought it would fit my voice, and then I realized when I read the lyrics that it was deeper than I first thought and then I felt that I must perform it live. His outfit in that performance: He has 2 swans on his chest because he sings about a ballerina. Ballerinas are gliding across the stage just like a swan is gliding majestically across the ocean. Swans are graceful, just like a ballerina is elegant. The song is about a young woman who uses ballet as a form of escape and self-expression. The lyrics paint a picture of a girl who is burdened by familial struggles and a challenging upbringing, yet finds solace and empowerment through her love for dance. Despite facing adversity and objectification, she embodies beauty and grace on stage, showcasing her inner strength and resilience. The repetition of "dancing alone" symbolizes her individuality and independence, highlighting her inner strength and determination to overcome obstacles. The song ultimately conveys a message of perseverance, self-discovery, and the transformative power of art in the face of adversity, encouraging listeners to find liberation and healing through their passions. « Lavrans can relate to that story as he has experienced similar. Btw the winner will get a record deal with Universal music and if he doesnt win (Inger Lise is also a big favorite), surely someone must have seen what a talent and a complete package he is. Its not that usual to be a complete artist after so little experience and only a few performances like this. Usually you have those who has great voices or has the x-factor. He has it all, allready.

The more I think about it, even though I initially was a diehard Inger fan and I still believe her range and vocal prowess is more developed, this guy has a natural and raw tone she doesn’t quite have, so he doesn’t really need her range and screams to be better. I’d be absolutely down if he wins (but I also wouldn’t mind Inger either). He is by far the most distinctive contestant this season. And he has a bloody amazing voice. Has to be one of these two, they’re not only the best of this season but some of the best Voice contestants ever. And strictly about Lavrans, winner or not, Norway has to seriously consider him for Eurovision 2025, especially after this very unfortunate outcome this season. He’d absolutely kill it. I suppose the winner of this season is gonna come down to whether more Norwegian fans prefer vocal abilities and powerful ranges (Inger), or raw, sheer, crystal clear voices (Lavrans). There’s really nobody else who could win this season besides these two.

Well said 👏 Regarding Eurovision it would be a dream if he decides to parricipate in MGP, cause it would give him a lot of «free» exposure and many new fans, but if he wins a record deal, I dont know if he is tied or what he can do. He has the whole package to win Eurovision, so I really hope that is something he wants to do. Maybe its too early in 2025 cause I think The Voice has costed a lot, it has lasted since last summer, so it all depends if thats something he wants to do. Ina is such a big fan of him, so is Espen. Maybe those two could write him a song for MGP. Ina has participated as a songwriter before. She wrote «Bombo» who was 2nd in MGP in 2013 (behind «I feed you my love»). Even his mentor could maybe help him (even though most known artist in Norway sees MGp/Eurovision as something negative for their career for some reason) …….but Lavrans isnt established so it could actually help Lavrans a lot, and it would be a dream to see him in Eurovision. The result for Norway this year is just laughable. When an authentic original song and real musicians/band who actually had a song that has to do with Norwegian culture is dead last and ridiculed by juries especially, while they award gimmick songs with silly lyrics and songs we have heard a million times before, its a joke. Thats maybe why established Norwegian artists stay away and have a bad view of Eurovision. The juries hate Norway for some reason. We have sent songs similar to what others have been awarded for, but not Norway. Gåte is an acclaimed Norwegian band and I hoped that since they took part it would pave the way for other bigger artist to take part also, but I doubt it now after what happened to Gåte. It really was the worst outcome for those who hoped to see more well known names taking part.

@@In_my_own_mind With the right sponsors and guidance, Lavrans would be Norway’s best shot for the Eurovision win. Not that the contest is fair anymore, it’s definitely the most rigged singing competition worldwide imo (and it could NOT be clearer this season), but as you said above he just has the whole package for it. And I agree that Norway did not deserve this at all, they had an honest and beautiful moment whereas Switzerland just had someone who didn’t even know what they were doing half the time… Eurovision has to be a contest which honors the countries traditions more, not goofy, silly songs which don’t pay homage to their homelands at all. With that said I do believe that if not in 2025 due to the investment in The Voice and stuff, in 2026, with the help of Ina and Jarle, he could be the country’s MGP. Further on though, he’s up for something far more difficult than the Voice imo, because he enters the global stage and more corrupt and biased areas. But I think that he can figure it out. He’s a rising star, all he has to do now regardless of his Voice outcome is find the right sponsors and contracts and he can easily become more successful than any other Voice winner, Inger included (if she wins). If he does the right things afterwards, he could possibly reach the levels of Tom Odell, Dermot Kennedy or even Lewis Capaldi.

When you see several of the other auditions and who they turned for in comparison, I think either they didnt have any spots left or they wanted Jarle to have him (weird as it sounds), cause they thought Jarle would be the best fit for him. I know he pushed late. You could hear after only a few seconds what potential his voice had.
