@@joshmarcum6370 he underpays because most associations share at least half of the profits to their athletes. so the nfl pays 50% or so to their athletes and the ufc only pays around 16%. so imagine most fighters get what paddy made in his hometown fight. like 12 and 12. 12,000 to show up and 12,000 to win. thats 24 thou dollars IF you can win. lets say a new fighter fights three times in a year and wins every fight. thats still on 72,000 dollars from a promotion that makes BILLIONS and can afford to pay more. so imagine after you pay for your food and training and insurance and coaching staff....you probably have 35,000 left if you are lucky. imagine putting your brain health and body health on the line for a promotion thats willing to exploit you like this? dana and co get away with this for several reasons. but one smoke and mirrors act is to treat their superstars really well with pay and thats it. then you get guys like conor and paddy who make good money and wont complain. then you even get guys like DC and Mike Bisping who i love dearly but they work for the company and wont tell the truth. guys like rogan work for th ufc but doesnt lie about how low the pay is. its criminal. plus keep in mind that they wont even pay their fighters gate. so lets say Paddy in his home country....he filled that arena up and made the night for the ufc. he doesnt get a fucking cent of that gate and thats nuts. you can literally see who brings what engagement by looking at many many metrics on line. these days we have the best tools to measure what fans are engaging with. in a fair sport athletes should also get their gate percentage too. there is a reason why jon jones and francis and even costa all want out. they know they are being exploited.

Lost me at the opening argument confusing journalism and punditry. Paddy wasn't criticizing news reporting, he was critizing the subjective as opposed to the objective reporting. Dana (UFC) pays Paddy who agreed to a contract that he can renegotiate if the ufc sees more value with him than without him. Ariel doesn't create opportunities for fighters like this, rather, he's part of the cottage industry around fighters. There's nothing wrong with that, but it doesn't place him on a pedestal free from criticism of his takes.

I really hope that after all this, Paddy humbles himself, apologises, and we can see a sit down between these 2... he's clearly seen Conor get special treatment even after losses and really bad press .. so he's thought "I know Dana hates Ariel this well get me on his side forever" he doesn't realise Conor transcended the sport to a 4 billion valuation oh and he became the 1st ever 2 weight world champion and became the biggest and most famous athlete in the world whilst being electric in the cage and out of it.
