Thank you for this insightful video Oto. I have a question, my mom is sponsoring my trip to the UK. Is it obligatory to present her payslips? Her employer usually doesn’t send her any payslips, but I have a letter from her employer stating her position and how much she earns every month, and I have her bank statement where you can clearly see where the employer pays her the same day of every month. Will that be enough?

I have a UK visa sponsor, can I just attach a letter from his bank stating his current bank balance as proof of funds, or do I need to attach his bank statement as a requirement? Also, if I do need to attach his bank statement, does in need to be a bank account that is very active or can it be one of his old savings account that barely has any recent transactions?

I am not aware that a letter from the bank is sufficient proof of funds. Bank statement is the required proof. Any active account is fine.

Hi , please I just go refused for a visit visa , I applied as a student but some weeks after the application I got employed so I have not yet being paid and I have no bank statement to submit for now because I’m not yet due for payment. Your sponsor can show proof of means of financial support. Unless you have compelling reasons to visit the desired destination, I would advise you take a break from reapplying now and build your ties back home.

I honestly don’t understand what you mean. If your father is your sponsor, then his proof of funds should be submitted. Note that our focus here is tourism, so if you have specific questions regarding studying abroad, you should contact the institution.

Just wondering if it will be a ground for refusal if the account statement has a balance less than what was submitted should they verify the account statement.

Absolutely not. You are permitted to operate your account as you normally would, provided you maintain a reasonable balance that exceeds the total cost of your trip.
