What is Horizon: Survival Mode Expanded?
Horizon is a large scale overhaul of Fallout 4 that rebalances and expands the gameplay from the ground up. It contains thousands of changes, redesigned systems, and new additions to very carefully balance everything together. The goal of this mod is to create a more challenging and immersive experience.
Horizon adds new difficulties and challenges to Fallout 4 survival mode, which ultimately makes it a much more immersive experience. Difficulty can be selected during mod installation and increases incoming damage on the player. Desolation mode adds another layer of difficulty.

Loving this play through. All of the different systems involved in Horizon truly make this Fallout 4.5. The depth is massive. I chuckled at the needing just a few ranks part you needed for different skills because it is so well and naturally gated off by design. A player can't really cheese their way to anything in particular. The start of Horizon is brutal. My first attempt my shotgun build character was starving to death. Now I have a better understanding, but there's so much interplay with these deeper systems it's really cool to experience for myself and watch you go through.

the fishing rods threw me for a loop as well -- i had to bait fishing rods before i could use them for hunter missions. finally, after years of watching from afar, i got a gaming PC and am working through a desolation run of Horizon. there's a *lot* going on, heckuva learning curve, so i ended up starting this playlist over from the beginning. still don't understand so much about how to build my empire, but it's been fun to learn :)

I'd imagine the point of the hydrated meals is you get both in one item, your not carrying the weight of a water and a food.... just one food item....

@15:44 One can CHANGE the type of the combat armour. Light > Heavy and vice versa.

you can get the remainer of crafting skills from crafting related things, the points remaining you can gain are the numbers in (blue). So 2 levels tailoring + some crafting will get you the 43 points.

Nice gameplay! pd: if u want and don't upload videos in 2K, i have a trick to trigger vp9 codec, you record a new resolution 2048x1152, youtube gets confused by this resolution and this this is a 2K, and will aplly a vp9 codec than AVC. Greetings from Argentina.

I thought of something to share while you were speaking about Tatoes to plant in your settlements: --- Vegetable Starch --- I strongly recommend planting a balanced abundance of Tatos, Mutfruit & Corn at each settlement, in equal proportions. Vegetable Starch, which yields 5 Adhesive, requires only: 3 Tato 3 Mutfruit 3 Corn 1 Purified Water Doing this is a win-win-win situation, as it provides a variety of food to each settlement, generates a steady flow of Adhesive, and rewards a base of 16XP per Vegetable Starch crafted.

Actually it yelds 4 Adhesive, and requires (in "normal" Horizon): Acid 3 Corn 3 Mutfruit 3 Purified Water 2 Tato 3 PLUS a high skill in Survival In Desolation mode, which Wanderer plays it requires: Acid 4 Corn 4 Mutfruit 4 Purified Water 4 Tato 4 and 180 Survival skill. All for 4 Adhesive ... whihc at the point when he reaches 180 Survivla he most likely will not need anymore.
