I always give a "like" before I look at the video, because I always know it's going to be enjoyable, plus I don't want to forget. 😊

Same here. I do this with many channels I follow. I figure if I click on a video to watch the creator deserves at least a like for the work put in.

I just did the same thing! I know it will always be a great video, so the first thing I do is hit Like!

Very cool spot Cliff, Dave really knows some awesome locations and those Purple Lizard Maps are just the best. I really enjoyed the ambient sound of the wind blowing through the forest, another well done documentation of the amazing sites in Pennsylvania!

So glad you went. Few places leave a lasting impression on me. This was one of those. You did a great explore. Thanks so much for sharing. Hope you loved this spot as much as I did. Brings back the child in us.👍🙂🙏 Now I can't wait to see if you find the chimney rocks.

Enjoyed this very much even tho I dont like heights. That wind was brutal. I especially liked the rock fortification. I was glad you decided not to try that one big rocks. My stomach dropped when you showed the thin rim along the top. Where we saw it from was good enough. Safe travels.❤❤❤❤❤

Those rocks are vertigo village and with the wind blowing it makes the vertigo much worse. Beautiful place and it gives off Tolkien vibes. Thanks so much for sharing the Beautiful Natural Areas in your area of the world.

You're right at our cabin, Brother! I think the maps are wrong, and Chimney Rocks are the rocks on our side of the road where you are..Walnut Bottom is the town down in the valley, where Grandma lived. We have been on those rocks many times, and I even hunted deer there (no luck). I'm writing this early in the video, so we'll see later if you find the cubby holes toward the far end. Quartzsite mineral escarpment. The cabin is down the road, and turn right, down into the hollow. You could leave me a mug!-)

Makes me wish I knew more about geology. lIKE the rocks at Devils Den in Gettysburg
@ryanferree65417 ай бұрын
The rocks at Devils Den are Diabase which is an intrusive igneous rock. That means the rock was molten magma but it never came out of a volcano. It intruded fractures in other rocks above it. Eventually the rocks above it were eroded away exposing the Diabase. The magma was forced into those fractures as the last supercontinent Pangaea began to rip apart in the Jurassic period between 200 and 150 million years ago. The molten magma fill vertical and horizontal fractures in the overlying rocks.

A windy day. A rock cliff. Jumping from rock to rock. Could be a recipe for disaster. Erring on the side of caution leads to a longer life in most cases. 👍🙏

Years ago when I was in high school I spent a full day up there with the purple lizard map trying to find chimney rocks, didn’t have any luck. Can’t wait to try again and see them finally!
@ryanferree65417 ай бұрын
You’re overlooking my back yard. Along High Mountain road you’re in the Harpers formation which is mainly quartzite and the rock outcrop you were climbing on is the Antietam quartzite. Both formations are from the early Cambrian period around 534-514 million years ago. This was a shallow marine environment at that point, before the collision of micro continents on our eastern shores which heaved those rocks up to their current location.

I wonder if an area like that could have been considered a sacred place for native Americans

Great hibernaculum for bears. If it was south facing, the rattlesnakes would like it too.
