The spring house you saw in your hike, at one time there was a three sided shelter on the opposite side of the trail. I remember it was in bad shape and guessing it was torn down. That spring house possibly served the needs of hikers and horses

We kayak on Scotts run lake all the time. If you're lucky you might spot the resident muskrat. We see him sometimes at the opposite end of the lake from the dam in the NW corner.

There are a few more of those spring houses throughout the park. My wife & I used to walk with our dogs around 20 years ago. All those signs are new to me.

This is a very interesting area - we personally are huge fans of winter time hiking - we like no bugs, less heat, and that you can see forever! A bit of warmer weather here and there is greatly appreciated as well though too! Keep making memories & adventure on! ~Karen & Shannon WOY

Hi Cliff, I cannot wait for Spring either, although it is easier to see features in the landscape in the Winter months, I love seeing and hearing the birds and Spring wildflowers with all of the new born animals skipping and jumping around. Thank you for sharing, much love. xx 💞

Beautiful place and interesting hike. I think the sixty degree days are optimal for taking hikes - few humans and bugs! Who maintains all of these trails and puts up the signs that you point it out on this hike?

If you are interested in old buildings. Bethesda church is very near where you are. I think that building is 300 years old and still in use a a church. interesting to see though.
