Animal agriculture industry uses over 50 trillion gallons of water a year, 2,500 gallons of water are needed to produce 1 pound of beef, agriculture is responsible for over 80% of the worlds water consumption and fracking use up to 140 billion gallons yearly. So even though this video sends a good message, wouldn't it be better to actually address these other issues. Rather than handing out bottles of water to random strangers perhaps we need to have a good long talk with these massive corporations that are draining our world of its fresh water. This is actually committing human rights violations, as in denying humans access to the most important life giving necessity the body needs just so someone can eat big mac.
@GangdaMustardah9 жыл бұрын
SpaceHawk13 I agree with you. We need new solutions to improve water comsumption by agriculture. I think the amount of water saved by this new solutions could be enough to supply those in need

What should I do? Send my water for africa? They will talk now that the blame for they are short of water is mine? I have to feel bad now? I have a million problems at work, at home still have to feel bad for the rest of the world? I have to live thinking about how the world is falling apart now and accumulate all this with my own problems? There is lack of empathy from me, just want to know what you expect me to do by the lack of safe drinking water to children across the world, I 'm just a normal citizen without much money fighting to keep my family and have a little happiness in the midst of so much bad thing.

The message this video convies can't be seen in mass media WHY?. I'm not sure that these people are just "ordinary" as you said , but they are very extraordinary when they get concious about their way of living. (just remember what happened when people get more poisitive messages about the disaster og smoking: smoking is no longer seen the same way as 60s till 80s. I think more videos like this will change people and get them awakened.

Actually if you enlarge the picture, you will see people using cell phones at the very beginning (seconds 10-13 maybe), plus there are drinks in the cup holders. I agree with you SpaceHawk but the big companies don't care, so we have to start somewhere - with bringing the situation to the attention of people who might think about this differently (I don't actually have much hope, however).

Are these things really necessary? If I'd been on those people's place, I'd cringe all over the place. We ALL know what's happening out there. If people don't want to help it's because they don't want to, and if they do, it's because they want to. Simple. Now, I'm not being insensitive, but seriously, to me this is like reminding people not to kill, like, give all those people a little sting with a pin or something and then a video pops out: "That hurt quite a bit didn't it? Then imagine all these people who are murdered everyday. Watch out. Don't beat. Don't hurt. Don't murder." Hurrr Durrr Well this is just my point of view, I find all these campaingns useless because we are in the freaking 21st century: EVERYONE is aware of all this shit, so why waste resources trying to wake more people up if it won't help? Just give those fkin water bottles to those kids instead -_-

I kind of see what you were trying to achieve with this, but it just doesn't work for three reasons: 1. Not everyone in that movie theatre tried to open their water bottle before the ad began. 2. If I had been in that situation, I wouldn't have got frustrated. Not being able to open a water bottle isn't enough reason for that (and seeing other people having the same problem would've even made it kind of funny). 3. In real life, you will never find a water bottle impossible to open. This is a completely artificial scenario. This should've been about something that actually happens to us in everyday life in order for it to have an impact.
