Agreed. My husband & I had this kind of marriage (he passed in 2002 @ 48 yrs old). We agreed early on to not argue. We agreed if something needed to be discussed we'd drop the matter for 30 minutes. (walking away if you're upset and counting to ten even when dealing with the kids DOES WONDERS!!!) The funny thing was we NEVER argued. I know ppl will say that's not true, but it was. We were so well matched. Met thru his brother (whom I worked with at a Department store that started with a K years ago.) dated for 2.5 wks, he returned to his US Army base in Germany, we wrote letters every day and sent a 30 minute Cassette Tape each week. Got engaged on Valentine's Day (he sent my engagement ring home and we taped his dad putting the ring on my finger!! ) & got married 11 months later. Many people thought we were newlyweds.....even after we'd been married 10-20 yrs. The key is to put your life like I'm sure John and Alyssa do : 1st...God 2nd.... Your Spouse. 3rd...our Children. So many people put their kids first, their marriage second and God(?) they forget about. John and Allyssa remind me so much of my "Happily Ever After"......every time I watch their videos, it makes me miss my hubby all the more. God Bless This family!

@@anavazao3121 Thank you. People like Alyssa & John just make me smile so much. I just wish my husband had lived 6 wks longer he so wanted to meet that very first grandchild (a girl). A successful marriage is work, but it's amazing, wonderful, and worth it if you are willing to go that extra mile.

Another hint for mommies is to separate the clothes into ziplock bags. I would put a top., a bottom, socks and undies in each bag. Then my girls could just grab a bag in the morning to get dressed. It was also great when we would travel. I could tell the girls to grab ever how many bags we needed for the trip. I reused the bags each week and when we traveled dirty clothes could go in the bag until we returned home.

Well of all the girls Alyssa looks like Kelly. She gets her organization from her mom. What is notable us that most men like to work independently but the Bates men are different they truly want to honor their wives so that is their goal. It’s not so what they say but how can I honor my wife. They respect their husbands. This is a life style and it honors God. God mindful.
