regarding the current year and previous ones, we've been getting a lot of anime, overflood of anime, which is a good thing, there more for everyone, in theory this is great, in practice we get so much lazy plots, isekais, 3Ds, CGIs, and remakes, a hit and miss, but there are a lot of gems, one thing that changed in me, I'm more reluctant to test new stuff than ever, I just wait and get caught up with older anime, while i wait for the connaisseurs of anime to take the bullet and i just filter out their opinions to decide what to watch, now I'm binging new stuff that i left, like zom 100, heavenly, mob, etc... pros: i don't wait weekly, i finish what i want whenever i want at my own pace, i only watch good stuff, easy access to more manga since now the mangas added more content. cons: i wait a lot and probably forget to watch what i previously thought ill watch, to much filtering out that older anime get pushed by newer ish ones, potentially spoiled, i don't get to share my opinions with others that easily since majority of online communities and my friends moved on.

I'm in the huge minority of actually not minding filler or anything like that. I think it can really help character development and how I feel about side characters. I'll give an example, last year I watched naruto for the first time without really understanding what filler was as a concept, and I remember watching it with a filler list a few months later and realising "wait, tenten barely exists", because she actually plays a role and has some really cool interactions in the filler. I get it, it's not canon, but it can definitely help with how a character is represented.

I find that the pacing in the anime of egghead is much better than wano as now they don't hesitate to do a week break or a recap episode instead of terrible pacing which makes the egghead arc much more enjoyable than wano especially when you include the last episodes that have been absolutely amazing in animation

Filler is not necessarily bad. Hell, most American shows I’ve committed to memory use filler episodes to flesh out characters instead of advancing the wider plot (see Power Rangers), and some anime (namely the original Naruto) have done the same thing. Quite unfortunately, filler has gotten a bad rep because entire arcs that have nothing to do with the original story can get placed smack dab in the middle of a huge arc because they accidentally nearly caught up to the manga and need more time, breaking the pacing, and that’s not even mentioning the things that will be done to stretch out an episode, like flashbacks and elongated standoffs.

I much prefer the weekly BECAUSE the anime expands on that which the manga chooses to keep for the anime or completely forgets. With Boruto, we need a better understanding of the timeskip and have a better understanding of Boruto's New Generation.

I understand where you’re coming from however, I have to disagree. I feel like with the seasonal schedule. The art of Boruto will exceeded lots of expectations. Although I do very much love, Boruto, I find myself not watching the anime anymore, due to its massive amount of filler, sometimes not even correlating with the story and the lackluster fights due to the animation being not as good as it could’ve been. I feel like in a 24 episode format they can add some expanding on the characters and the story as well as an explanation. Therefore, we can get good high-quality episodes with the expansion of the anime manga itself. This will attract people towards the anime, as it will look like a high effort work. Not saying that the animators have been doing anything bad, but as has been stated by the animators themselves, it is hard to work with because they don’t have enough time to animate as well as they want to.

Hot take i dnt mind filler and actually prefer when they have decent filler. For me it comes down to it being interesting to see people playing in a world like Bleach and allows for more creations instead of essentially just making the between frames for the manga (i know its not that simple)

I feel like moving anime to a seasonal release structure is better for the manga release structure because you could flow alongside the releases of chapters and volumes as well too and keep a steady pace of both the animation and manga panels revealed if you think about it, there are no fuller arcs or nonsensical episodes of anime that are unrelated to the stuff I feel as tho making a Netflix structure would be amazing because they could go: here is a month of episodes coralating to the volumes chapter, binge watch them, and then next month, here is the next volume of chapters in anime form would be exciting to see a volume a month would be cool thin about the reviewer content as well too for anitubers/ reviewers the videos would be flying out the door lol

idk why everyone thinks black clover is ending so soon. Before we even properly get into asta and yuno vs lucius we still have to get through: the black bulls fights; yami, nacht and ichika vs morgen(which isnt gonna be a fight that can be covered in 2 or even 4 chapters considering all the history and baggage between those characters and fact that morgen is supposed to be one of the strongest paladins); noelle and her siblings vs their mom, which is a similar case with previous fight i listed. There also random character moments that have been built up and gonna get paid that'll extend the page count like charmy's backstory, rill's masterpiece, fuego's spirit dive etc. Then once we do get to the main fight we still have to get an explanation of what lucius is actually as well as his backstory. Which considering how long the lucifero fight was he didn't offer much interesting dialogue or philosophy and we didn't get a backstory, say the lucius fight isn't ending 4 chapters. I honestly think after a while black will probably switch to monthly instead, tabata just needed rest and time his family

Seasonal sounds great! But no one here is gonna deny that some filler arcs are phenomenal/ especially the very short ones. Killer Bees infinite tsukyomi dream of a weird spin on how jinchuurikis are was fantastic. Even the robo naruto was good. The episodes where team 7 tried seeing under kakashis mask and more. Hopefully they still produce those high quality fillers on the side maybe between the seasons.

I do have to add one comment to nicks statement about the pacing of one piece "making you feel like you are going on a journey with the straw hats", while it is 100% an excuse and pure copium, as a 25 year old who has followed the story of one piece with varying degrees of interest since I was 6 or 7 years old, and there is absolutely some truth to the fact that it has felt like the insanely long run of one piece has made me feel like I have a bond with the straw hats that I have never felt with any other characters. When I was a kid and watched through alabasta, I remember catching up a couple years later and having my mind blown that miss all Sunday joined the crew, and then a few years later when I caught up and found out about ace and whitebeard, when I got into it again when I was in college and they had just gotten to whole cake and I got to see how much they had grown over the years through the time skip and see how their own emotional growth had felt like my own over the years. Going from being a kid and watching these guys go up against fairly standard villains where things are a bit more black and white with everyone's motivations and seeing them progress through things like ussop and luffys fight in water 7 or sanji leaving in whole cake just made me feel like they were growing as people along with me and that, no matter what was ever going on in my life, I could push out everything and just go check on the straw hats and see what they were up to. It is something that is less to do with the pacing and quality of the show on a weekly basis vs seasonally, I completely agree with all of your points there by the way, but one piece is just such a unique place where I, and hundreds of thousands of other people, have lived their entire lives along side the straw hats and when we say that it feels like we are going on a journey with the straw hats, there is definitely truth to it.

I think it's the right choice because if the Boruto anime and black clover anime were on a weekly schedule the pacing and timing would be off. It takes awhile for animators to draw out each scene because they have to use 3d technology and CGI. Which if it was rushed than it would look bad or just not appealing. Like dragon ball z to dragon ball kai. I personally like both but if i had to choose one i would say kai. It takes a lot of money to draw each scene especially if you're animating an entire arc like wano. I think that wano had really great animations but i will admit it seemed like the pacing was kinda bad especially if you look at the chapters from pre gear 5 to post gear 5 to the episodes.

The Original FMA Is unavailable on most platforms. I Tend to prefer watching them booth on a re watch. Especially for the back and foward between Ed and Dante. And boom it's finally happening. Don't get me wrong I'm still gonna keep watching weekly released one piece but at the end of the day the defenitve version of one pieces is going to be the onepiece. The same way dragon ball z Kai is the superior version of dbz. I am so glad we are getting seasonal anime treatment for boruto and black clover.

I’m personally not a fan of seasonal, it’s hard to be immersed in something you’re only interacting with a few hours a year, it makes complete sense for monthly mangas tho

@@sumo_smash727 Ufotable definitely makes great animation. I read demon slayer entirely. And think that what really pushed it to popularity was the animation. I guess JJK is the same in that regard. Personally I liked chainsaw man and especially Hell’s Paradise.

They were not talking about the plot or story...They were talking about the Seasonal Schedule..Demon slayer did the seasonal anime schedule which inspired the studio pierrot president (or CEO or whatever) to go Seasonal...It was not JJK that inspired them...And the president said it clearly in the interview that "Kinetsu no yaiba" was the one to change his opinion on anime schedule..​@@urmizurmi

No... It isn't. Black Clover has some filler episodes, but nearly as much as Naruto and Bleach

But by the logic of what you said, if The One Piece is going to be 400-600 episodes they will need to be on a weekly release because if they do (what I can’t stand nowadays but what is popular) 12-13 episodes a season, then wait 8 months to a year that would be almost 30 years itself vs going weekly and being low end 400 episodes at 7 and a half years, I just don’t see the commitment in Netflix of all things to still be wanting to push it for that long Edit: Unless Netflix wants to dump 25-30 episodes for the whole year would cut that time in half to 15 years
