@@VainFriggus Kaiju No 9 is a Kaiju that had previously blended in with humans (it eats humans and then transforms into their shape) because it can also talk in the human language. It has been planning an attack for a long time and then the MC Kafka (aka Kaiju No 8) appeared outta no where and almost killed it. A series of events happen and Kaiju No 9 then kills the Director General (the father of the girl who could use 46% like the video said) then takes and uses his body as the final villain, creates Daikaiju that are specifically opposites to Platoon and Division Leaders and then wages war.

It's plot structured is kindaa like Attack on Titan and Seraph of the End made a baby. Which i both like. But even then Kaiju no.8 so far tho, is making it's own way to stand out and i find that really amazing. Characters are memorable, the character designs are great, the Animation's great too. I'll see how far this turns out to be.

Honestly this feels like a mix of multiple Tokusatsu series into a manga turned anime. Kaiju/alien latching into a human host to fight kaiju? Ultraman, transforming superhero? Henshin hero, such as ultraman and kamen rider, kaiju attack team? Ultraman

Kaiju no 8 is the first manga I started as it started, pretty much everything else I've read were completed stories or ones that were already in chapter 200+ (I'm looking at you one piece!) So Kaiju holds a special place in my heart, and I'm so excited to share this story in animated form with new people.

I've been reading this and frieren for 3 years. I was blown away by how freaking good frieren anime was. The manga was already 10/10 for me after 100+ chapters but anime doesn't even get there and it's still great. Kaiju no 8 first episode looks promising and I'm very excited for the next episode.

I just watched the first 2 episodes, and my theory is there's some deeper level to the Kaiju where there's a ruling class of kaiju with their own potentially nefarious motivations. I'm guessing there's some end game that involves turning humans. I'm also guessing that the MC is an anomaly in that he retained his consciousness, which will come into play far into the story.
