These Vevo live performances from The Weeknd are just next level. Most artists don’t sound half this awesome in the studio let alone in live performances. The way his voice hits these notes on different parts of the spectrum is just incredible. We’re witnessing the GOAT of current music.

abel is probably is the only artist in the industry that released an artistically compelling album this year, paired with a cinematic narrative and a consistent concept throughout every single one of his live performances. his record 'blinding lights' surpassed 1 BILLION streams back in june, making it the most-streamed song in the world. 'in your eyes' is a track with a synthpop/post-disco flair that is noted to be a stand-out track from the whole album - the saxophone solo was the most satisfying thing i'd heard and i wish i could go listen to the track (hell, even the whole album) again. every single track was amazing - faith, alone again, snowchild, scared to live, save your tears, after hours (MY FAVOURITE!). 'after hours' was given a professional rating of 80/100, based on 20 reviews. it was definitely 'album of the year' in the eyes of critics' as well. my point is that this year, no artist reinvented themselves the way abel did. few artists evolved but no one is close to this man. he left his fans hooked for more and he GAVE more. he worked so hard and i've got this emptiest feeling after hearing those wretched grammy noms. he really deserved recognition from them for his success and self-reflection this year. in conclusion, fuck the grammys.

Awards are more a method of control and manipulation than a recognition of merit...these days. The future is unwritten and is not just a continuation of the past. Even today in other spheres like maths and physics that don't always require a large influx of cash, the greatest disciveries are by those who were disenfranchised by their establishment peers...at least initially. Grigory Perelman and Juan Maldacena for examples. Capitalist money ( which the rich print out of thin air effectively through leveraged loans that they pass on the debt to u) has the same effect as these corrupt awards...just a lever of control in a corrupt system that unless u get lucky and breakthrough...will only hurt u. Any genuine talent that cannot be brought or bought to kneel will be seen as a threat to established rentier class control....and squashed.

The lyrics are insane, the beat is awesome, his voice flowing through it... Faith is by far the best song in After Hours. But it's not for everyone, so it'll likely be one of the most underrated songs in the album, along with Nothing Compares and Escape From LA (my personal favorites). However, it's not the best song of 2020. Physical, The Box, Blinding Lights and Dynamite are more competent for that tittle.

No one deserved a Grammy more than this man! That’s no disrespect to any of the artists who won but come on! Vocally no artist is touching him, one of the highest selling albums of the year, for sure the best album of the year, the live performances are amazing, every video he’s put out is basically a movie that is based all around his persona (or real life self which he blurs the lines between the two very well) and they are incredible and dark, he’s marketed this album and socialized with his fans so damn much just to get robbed of even a nomination! I mean what do I expect, it's the Grammys and they have their select artists they love to push for various selfish reasons rather than awarding artists based on how good the music is. You’re telling me Yummy by Justin Bieber deserves 4 nominations over After Hours?😂😂 stop it.
