When using the rod holder I put the lead over my neck and leave a little slack then rap the lead around your arm and you have more control, I have been welding off and on sense 1982 I have been I have my own rig but I just work for my self, I like your video's

Do you have a multimeter with an amp clamp? Hook that puppy up to your SA200 lead and you can know what amps are for a reference when switching between machines. Harbor Freight (CM610A or CM1000A) is pretty decent and does AC/DC. Good for troubleshooting machine problems too

Are the pieces of pipes welded to together used for anything or is just for instructional purposes only?
@tongasamoa893 жыл бұрын
This is for instructions but when you out there in a refinery factory, wastewater plants etc you’ll see all a lot of iron stainless pipes range from 3 inch to 12 inch that you’ll have to weld them together, it’ll be a lil challenging because of the limited space to work with but I love the challenge

Have a question? I'm thinking of slowly going out on my own once I have my certificates for tig and stick. I really love pipe welding but don't mind any kind of welding. With that said getting started what should I try to focus on starting out repairs or tig pipe to get income coming back to my shop?

I have a question for the oldschool welders how’s y’all vision ? Does doing this for a long time affect your eyes?
@projectgz3 жыл бұрын
For sure
@brandonthornborough44333 жыл бұрын
It does affect your eyes to a degree. It's not good for your lungs as well. If you use proper shade and pay attention to not inhaling too much fumes you'll be alright. I've been welding since 2004. My eyes are still fine. I wear glasses while driving at night now but that's it. I think that has more to do with getting older.
