Looking forward to this series! I'm a nerd for Ice Age stuff (even published a book about it in my region)... There's no doubt that the ancestors of Native Americans came via Beringia. The only real questions are when and therefore how. If they came during or before the Last Glacial Maximum, as the White Sands site suggests, then they likely would have come down the coast. Land routes through the Canadian foothills would have been covered by ice. Sea levels during the LGM were hundreds of feet lower, exposing modern continental shelf as broad plains for people to migrate southwards. What I find really provocative is that this also suggests that humans coexisted with Ice Age megafauna for something like 10,000 years before they went extinct, which may lend more credence to environmental causes for their extinction, for which humans may have played a more marginal role. Or at least it connects the extinctions with the development of Clovis culture, rather than the arrival of humans as such. Interesting stuff and I'd love to actually go to White Sands some day!

I hope there’s enough interest to continue the series. only 1/3 as many as usual. I have a sound bite that i didn’t use that mentions the non- man caused extinction. I’ve been to clovis - but in the 80s. Might have to go back. Found a recent research paper that says a meter of gypsum is missing and that explains the close proximity to human prints. But that doesn’t explain the alternating layers these researchers say they have.

@@TheWestisBig I hope it picks up too! I enjoy your Glacier videos, but it's nice to branch out from those and see more places I *haven't* been to yet! 😆

After Biden pulled out of Afghanistan many of locals who helped us were relocated to the White Sands area. You are likely to meet a few of your countrymen.
