I wish there were more comments from people that see the big picture of why a bike like this is so important. Ping mentioned about the noise issue which is a bigger issue than ever before. Of course it is not for everybody. If you are a hard core long distance racer, this is probably not the bike for you and it was never intended to be that. It seems from inception it was meant for motocross. R&D will eventually fix the load issue to. For somebody looking to find flaws with it I have no doubt that you will find them but for the future of motocross this bike may have become it's Savior. Besides the fact that almost everyone that has actually ridden one LOVES IT!!!! I hopefully will be ordering one soon........and I have a lot of patience, I have no problem waiting for what I want.

Thanks for being an early adopter of the testers. Really good input about the riding nuances. Too bad you didn't try the LHRB. Exceeding your high expectations says a lot. The Bogle 35 minutes on a deep track is good info that has been missing, the range issue is the last lingering question. More of a 1st ride than full test but good feedback. Holy moly!!! You look good on the Varg!!! I am guessing the bike would cause a lot of grief to other riders in front of it because the guy on the Varg would be changing up lines like crazy in turns and the guy in front wouldn't know where it was coming from prior to being passed. Thanks Ping. This is the first review from someone who I know is not biased or staged. A lot of housing and other development has taken away great riding in my area and a lot of it is still tucked away but the noise from an I.C.E. brings heat immediately. For me the purpose of this bike would be not to have to drive 2-3 hrs to get a good ride in. For Moto and all day trail rides, it is still too easy to re-fuel and go, but to ride locally it looks great.

Dude I race moto with bought a used Alta back in 2020 and let me ride it for a session or two back then. I totally get the weirdness you felt when first getting on the bike. You have to remind yourself there's no gears to grab or clutch to pull, plus getting used to the in air dynamics. Now it seems like the Stark is a big improvement over the Alta so I'd love to ride it as well, but that is likely a ways off in the future as you cant get a hold of one due to demand and production limitations. Anyway, solid and comprehensive vid Ping it's the best one so far I've seen on the Stark. I hope you do get a hold of another one soon.

It would be very interesting to see a lap time comparison after you get some more time on one of these eventually. Like, run 5 laps on a 450 you're comfortable on, then 5 laps on the Stark, and compare averages. And then change power levels on the Stark and see what that does to lap times. I'm still hesitant to be excited about these, but they are the future and I will get on board eventually, I think it's inevitable. The low maintenance and input costs are a big thing as well. Just likely an all-round easier machine to own for regular guys that are tight on time. More time riding, less time wrenching.

A normal gas 450 has about 52hp, and the average rider can not even use all that, so 60hp is probably too much. I can not ever see anyone being able to use all the 80hp, that is just ridiculous. I had a 2 stroke Suzuki RM 465 with 53hp for 8 years and it was so fast I never went past 3/4 throttle, and it would lift the front wheel in every gear but 5th at 3/4 throttle. So 50hp is about all anyone would ever need, anything more than that is just overkill.

@philiprourke7732 Жыл бұрын
I dont think the big manufacturers will be making a full sze electric motocross or enduro bikes. It would be a bad idea for them to do that. Just like the KTM group with their very very popular 350 engine...their biggest selling model....the Japanese aren't interested. They let ktm have the 350 market uncontested and they will do the same with the electric market. Reason is adding such a model will only take away sales of their existing models, thats why they dont do it. Just think all the pros and cons through carefully..it doesn't make sense for them to build electric mx bikes ,until such time as Stark starts to significantly eat into their combustion engine motocross bike market share. I think that will take a long time to happen. There is obviously very high initial demand for the e bike..but that will settle down very quickly once that initial demand is met. Yearly ongoing sales for Stark will unlikely be cause for alarm with the majors...just like the market for Austrian 350's is not deemed by the Japanese to be enough of a threat for them to invest in it themselves
@richcornwall4567 Жыл бұрын

@@Marleysdad808 Honda show zero signs of putting their electric prototype into production, Getting on the electric bandwagon and making bold statements that their entire motorcycle range will be electric by 2035, amounts to nothing but lip servicce from Kawasaki...its the thing to do if you wanna get along in the current "" green energy""phase of human insanity...2035 is a very long way away.. Suzuki haven't updated their motocross range for several years so you can pretty much guarantee they wontt go electric either.. Pit Bierer at KTM said they wont be doing it in the foreseeable future... I was privy to a remark from someone I know personally in Yamaha USA offroad r&d and at the time of the Stark Varg announcement he had no knowledge of any emx bike being planned, Im talking an official full Yamaha bike, not some very limited partnership with someone else willing to do all the development.. It was a fight from people within Yamaha USA to get the Japanese to even keep 2 stroke mx bikes in their line up, harder again to get them to update them even slightly for the 2022 model release...they could really rob sales from their 4stroke line , or maybe from KTM, so the slightly updated 2 strokes from Yamaha really only amount to a limited gesture of good will to loyal customers Think about the cost of developing a full size EMX bike from scratch...consider how big the market would actually be 🤔🤔🤔🤔 With vast resources already tied up in building and evolving their current ice bikes...why build one model that might massively reduce sales of existing models? KTM make 125, 250 and 300 cc two strokes. 250, 350, and 450 cc four strokes. So they build a bike that matches the Varg...will they sell just as many of the ice bikes, plus sell enough of the EMX model to make it profitable? Or will they end up selling around the same number of bikes as the e bike robs sales from the gas bikes? Or could they potentially sell less as people who commonly buy say a 125 two stroke and say a 450 four stroke every couple years , cease doing so and just buy one EMX bike instead? And seeing as how the motor will last longer than the chassis, they might keep that bike 5 or 6 years before buying a new one, when they might have bought a new gas bike every year?? A lot to think about here...have you actually REALLY thought it through??
