I have never experienced God in church. So I stopped going. However I have experienced peace within myself. That calm confident voice inside me that picks me up when I'm falling. I’m the same! I was so fearful and lived in chains of fear, as a Christian! On top of that brought up in a conservative home (my parents love them Mzungus it’s unreal) I never ever felt I knew what I was doing, simply because it never felt natural to me (speech/ manners/ religion and school) as a melanated being. Aged 5/6 i said a prayer in Sunday school. When I was done, the teacher pulled me to the side and said “…the prayer was good but you need to end with ‘in Jesus name, I pray. Amen”’ Well, I said my prayers that night and chanting that name, I deeply believe gave me the most horrific nightmare! I woke up traumatised! I respectfully continue practicing this faith, to please my parents, until my late teens! When I was done and coincidentally that summer, we went to visit my grandmother (back in Southern Africa), for the first time in my fathers village! She laid hands on me.. I was 18 years old and tbh didn’t understand then, but I do now! Even though we met a few times in my life, she knew we were alike! My grandmother was an infant, when the missionaries, she witnessed colonisation, apartheid, the horrific treatments of our people! She refused their religion, that they forced on our people! That’s why she chose to live rural, refused to visit anyone in towns or cities, never consumed packaged foods or beverages! She was a real pan Africanist! unfortunately before I was fully awake 😔 she died from a leg injury (as she was ploughing the fields, a cow kicked her) aged 93 years old! I was deeply hurt because I planned to visit her that summer! After her passing I became more reserved, which greatly helped with my spiritual journey! I managed to graduate with a bachelors degree in human nutrition. I find myself amongst nature than crowds of people! I am the black sheep of the family lol, but I don’t care because I’ve never felt this FREE in my life!

If you'd like to look into it I'd recommend Greek Orthodox Christianity and Coptic/Egyptian Orthodox Christianity, Arabian Orthodoxy is interesting too, their arias and chants are very soothing

Iv been stabbed 3 times shot once and one of the times i was pronounced dead for over 10 mins.....
