The stadium Hohe Warte (home of the First Vienna Football Club) once was the biggest stadium in Europe wirh a capacity of 100.000 people.

Isle of Man reference when showing that club's badge was unexpected touch especially coming from an Aussie. Well played.

Greetings from Vienna! As someone who's been watching your channel ever since it only had like a few thousand subs I'd never thought that youd make a video about my hometown in particular! As someone who has been to the Steffl Arena, the Horr Stadion and the Happel Stadion I'd like to ptovide some further insight on the last one The team wants to move out or renovate yes but what makes this easier said than done is the fact that the stadium is considered a cultural heritage sight and thus it's prohibited to demolish or remake it and the plans that are currently on the table would leave the foundation untouched which is the worst part for me as someone who goes there occasionally. The foundation and stems are really old and a constant fear of collapse is present everytime I'm there. I feel like it's not a question of IF but WHEN a disaster will happen Also you might wanna consider doing a video on the TFF 1. Lig, which has lots of modern high tech stadiums for being a 2nd division football League

My takeaway from this video is that a fair amount of American football is played aus Wien

Surprised at the American Football teams. I hadn't realised that was a significant sport outside the US.

its small in austria
@DrZaius31412 ай бұрын
@@zap900 Austria are the reigning European Champions* and have plenty of European club titles. So "small" is relative. Smaller than the US, but larger than most countries. * In fact, in the 5 tournaments since 2010, they've always been only eliminated by the champions and were always the closest to beating the champions. In other words: They've been in the top 2 of Europe for ages.

American football is pretty big in austria. At least if you compare it to other european countries

If you consider lower tier football as well, its about 5-6 american football teams

@julianhagmann7109 interesting. I would have figured Germany for sure because the military bases still there , but it's kinda interesting I wonder if there is a decent amount of expats there

@@subparnaturedocumentary To be fair, those were mostly kickers back in the day when teams were looking for "soccer" players to do the placekicking. But since 2010 or so, Austria has been consistently among the best teams in Europe.

I think it’s a bit strange that you didn’t mentioned two stadiums in Mödling which isn’t even in Vienna and didn’t mention FAC or FAVAC Platz which feature two interesting/at least a bit relevant really Viennese clubs. Additionally while the Admira stadium is at least a bit important and is home to a club that has partly Viennese background, the Mödling stadium really isn’t even really relevant for most people in Mödling it’s like absolutely not worth visiting to be honest. But otherwise good video.
