Very nicely done, thank you! I do appreciate the atmosphere and aura of your videos. Never boring, always calming... thanks for that! When I see you opening the beer mix, I remember a friend who said "that's the only purpose of a double walled steel bottle - keeping the beer really cold. Boil your water better in a single walled" - well, he is right 🍺 Enjoy your trip! Pn me if you happen to get to Germany, best to you!

Thanks very much, Thomas. Your friend is right. It's a race to open it before it gets warm. Maybe I'll need to get one. 😂 Thanks for watching, and I'd love to get over there sometime. The Black Forest would be one of the places.

22:30 here in France and I am frying bacon in my Grandfather’s cast iron skillet! The things you do to me my friend! I loved the way you used stones as a fire guard. The Flute definitely adds to the enjoyment of the video and I am sure brings a sense of being closer to Mother Nature to you. Really happy as well that you discovered the Wasp’s prior to them deciding to discover you! As always a great video with plenty of valuable information. Happy Trails my friend!

😂 Bacon is contagious that way. I hope it was good 🥓🥓 I appreciate your input, Clifford. You know I used to work with bees and wasps, and have probably been stung a thousand times, but best to give them a little space instead of hammering on their front door. 😂 Thanks again, buddy.

Do have the Isle Royal senior or the regular that pack looks huge.
@thewildernessphilosopher2 жыл бұрын
It's the regular, which means the largest. It's not the mini nor the Jr

@@thewildernessphilosopher That what I thought, I got the Jr , great packs just I get all in to it and the more space the more stuff I think I need making the pack heavy for me . Thanks for your reply.
@thewildernessphilosopher2 жыл бұрын
@@sipapito my pleasure. Yes, when I have it loaded, it is indeed heavy. Especially since I use waxed canvas, wool, cast iron, ....everything old fashioned which weighs a lot. 😅

Enjoyed the vidi--big fan; not trying to make work for you but it would be very handy/helpful to us all if there was a listing of sources/names of any of the gear you use including clothing; if not--still a big fan and thanks for all you do and the spirit of what you do...

Where we live, that bacon would attract too many quadruped’s. Wouldn’t be safe. Just going to get my mail, I’ve unexpectedly come across them on the dirt road we live on. Always have a 10mm with me. Would try to avoid shooting the animal by shooting up the hill.

People kill anything that moves around here, unfortunately. I've seen two species of deer, lots of Boar prints, fox, and have heard jackals. An hour north are the mountains, and there , there's just about everything. The most common sight being mountain goats, marmots, and Ibex . Bears only when they wander in from Slovenia. Also lynx and European wolves. I've seen one lynx. But none of the critters have the same population as the expansive land of North America, unfortunately. Too many people per square kilometer.

What kind of steel is the blade of your whittler knife made from?
@thewildernessphilosopher2 жыл бұрын
Heya Scott. Nice to see ya here. The bigger knife horizontal on my belt is K-720 Carbon. The smaller hanging vertically is N690co...more of a stainless.
