Love this channel my friend. I lived in Yellowknife in the early early 80’s for a few years a child and I’ve missed it every day since. I’ll be back some day to sit in the Wildcat Cafe!

I just finished my trapping course here in north eastern ontario,40 hrs in field and class.Animal welfare, believe it or not some folks, was the key issue.Humane and proper trap sets and quick dipatch.Caught fisher, otter, marten, fox, beaver, weasel,in 3 weeks on line.Very interesting on trap line. Also visited north bay furriers, lots of shite in there. Also realized, all my old traps from years ago are illegal due too newer stardards, shows how long its been.

Great to see the quick dispatch. It always aggravates me when people walk up to the trapped animals and start talking, etc. For Christ sake, dispatch the animal as fast and clean as possible and then you can do whatever. Good job. Cheers

Glad to see you show the dispatch, everyone seems afraid to show it. It may not be fun, but it's part of the trade if you want the fur. Lee Gibbs Scotts, Michigan

Glad to see that you didn't get seriously hurt . A few years ago I got caught 3 times in a 120 Belisle. The trigger punctured my skin and came out the back of my hand. Thumb was numb for probably 6 months after that. Take care and stay safe

Certainly appreciate all the effort this fellow puts in to his videos. It's hard enough to run a trapline, let alone stop and put effort in to making decent shot for video sake. My hats off to you sir.

Nice day on the line ther Andrew. We uses a 2 inch nail to hold the marten box up tree at opening. Put up higher to so it won’t get eatin. Just a tip for you. Get yourself some spare 30 amp fuses for the swt she might not start in the cold. Pull fuse out warm it in ya hand works sometimes to. Panel is behind pulley.

Good to see you back setting traps. I don`t want to be a critic, but I think you should wire your marten boxes on up a little higher. Mice get at them, voles and even foxes. I have had some where I thought they were ok, only to come back and there is only the head left in the trap. Ready for part 2!

Look into some Helly Hensen products for yourself Andrew well worth it man. Get the double layer undies the thin under layer then a set of the heavy one piece underwear and the Parka and bib overalls. Trust me bros be the best investment you ever made. They keep you dry from the outside and wick water away from your body. From another northern boy keep up the show been a fan since your time on the outdoor channel but live this format a lot better. It allows you to be yourself.

It's a hard existence, but it's a great way of life man. As far as I'm concerned, you're living the dream, buddy. Funny how a much more primitive life is what people are going back to. Not speaking of you Andrew, people from the lower 48, are leaving the cities in droves. Buying a little land and trying their hand at homesteading. Pretty soon, the entire countryside will be occupied by folks that have to figure out the difference between their butts and a hole in the ground. Lol.
