I am a first time subscriber. You do a great job explaining things. Nice looking sets. I learned a lot about trapping years ago from some Cree friends of mine in Northern Manitoba. They used the same methods you showed there. Wolverine sets were the trickiest. They will try everything to get in through the side or back.

That's great course. Don't do what i do and handle these traps without a safety gripper. I won't set a Duke trap without a safety gripper. But these beliese traps have really good safety locks and that is important, very well designed trap.i recommend them.

Andrew, it looked like the safety was still on one of the springs when you said the traps were hot I know you were still adding branches so maybe it was on deliberately. One was on and one was off. Hope the wolverine goes in the other trap. Love your content. You're in a winter paradise.

I enjoy the videos, have a question though, whats the reason for not having the lynx snares beefy enough to handle the wolverines? Cost? Lynx see the thicker wire?
@TheWildNorth11 ай бұрын
Smaller loop with heavier wire dont close so easily they don't glide closes. I had tried heavier wire for that reason I had a half a dozen cats just back out of the snares.its pretty tough to choke out a wolverine. Any that get caught in snares will be damaged they pull til the snare cut through there skin and into the meat. Had many over the years that had a headless pelt. I was a lynx snarer long before I was a wolverine trapper. I hope that answers tour question stay tuned

Another great video Andrew, thanks! Just curious, I don't know if you've ever covered this, but are there animals that you aren't allowed to trap? What I mean is if you trap some sort of "protected" or out of season animal, is there some sort of reporting you have to do? Obviously you can't guarantee what your trap will catch, I'm sure this sort of thing could happen and I'm just curious how it's dealt with. Keep up the great work with the videos!
