Kleid aus Rosen, Minne, Tanz auf dem Vulkan,.... There are so many good songs. My Subway to Sally Playlist is over 4 hours long.

SVBWAY TO SALLY are one of the two trailblazers of German Medieval Rock, and even though the genre is highly successful in Germany and regularly achieves high chart positions, I would love to see a more international audience feeling the magic and the entrancing energy of this artistic fusion that basically shaped my entire life when I was a teenager! I'm still addicted to Svbway to Sally, even after decades, and how could I ever live without their highly lyrical and seductively catchy creations?!? To make people understand the massive influence they've always had on Folk Metal and Medieval Rock, I will just look back at their impressive history: They started in 1992 (!) and are still playing huge venues in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as well as the biggest festivals in the world such as Wacken and M'era Luna to name only two. 15 (!) studio albums that only consist of absolute bangers and a constant musical development while staying connected to their own roots is really a statement, isn't it?🥀🖤🌙 Svbway to Sally have always been standing out, not only because of the sheer quality of their music but also thanks to the distinctive vocals of Eric Fish and the highly poetic lyrics written by Bodenski, who also plays the hurdy-gurdy in this live recording. Ally Storch as one of the most skillfull and well-known violinists in the world also deserves a mention without doubt! And then we have Ingo Hampf, who is not only writing most of the music but also playing the electric guitars, lutes and mandolines, Simon (acoustic guitar, guitar, background vocals), Sugar Ray (bass) and Simon Michael (drums) - STS are just a legendary combination of musicians who are playing countless instruments on the highest level. I have rarely been so impressed by the skills of a band!🔥🖤🔥 If anyone wants to go on an enchanting journey after watching this reaction, I would recommend albums that have become eternal classics in the course of time: Nord Nord Ost (2005), Engelskrieger (2003), Mitgift (2014), Herzblut (2001), Hochzeit (1999) or the most recent album Himmelfahrt (2023)! If you like to check out single songs first, you road shall lead you to "Eisblumen", "Schneekönigin", "Kleid aus Rosen", "Falscher Heiland", "Wenn Engel hassen", "Minne", "Ohne Liebe", "Schwarze Seide" or "Grausame Schwester"! The back catalogue is nearly endless and there are so many masterpieces to explore - masterpieces I would not be the same person without. As Tommy said (and thank you for the fun reaction, my dear friend!), Svbway to Sally have always been a huge part of my life and had an indescribable impact on my personal development as a teen long ago. I've seen them live countless times, they are one of the best live bands Germany has to offer, with lots of pyro and an insane amount of energy and enthusiasm, and I will forever be thankful for all the memories I associate with this standout band. German legends I don't even stop listening to while living in Japan!🥀🖤🌙

@@WNYretiree There's years and decades of music you can discover if you want!🖤✨️🌙 Thank you for your lovely comment, and I'm beyond happy to hear that you loved it! Originally coming from Germany, it's a matter of my heart to show people from all over the world the wonderful alternative bands we have over there! It's not easy to get well-known worldwide if you sing only in German, but that doesn't change the fact that their melodies are infectious and understandable for people from any country.🖤✨️ Enjoy the ride if you want to explore more!🔥

Svbway To Sally live is always a huge party. I've seen them a few times now in my small hometown. When they play “Julia und die Räuber”, the audience goes crazy.

I can take that fear from you: You actually did not butcher the title. :-) The V is pronounced more like an F, but apart from that, you pronounced it pretty much correctly!

Veitstanz is the outdated name of Tanzwut (literally Dance Rage) in Germany, Dancing Mania in English. It is a social phenomenon mainly happening during the 14th and the 15th century and mostly in continental Europe. It made groups of people dance erraticly and uncontrollably until they collapsed, some even died from exhaustion. It has never been conclusively clarified what triggered it. The band Tanzwut was named after it.
@blendonaut30158 ай бұрын
WRONG. Veitstanz is an medieval ritual which made it to a song later on while Tanzwut is a Band. Stop talking shit. And no it is not a social phenomenon. And by the way - i am a german and was there from the beginning - to its end (they split up and another band occour, till the had to reun again).
