Jake likes to just play straight through, no effects..also my favorite way to play,, makes for a really tight sound! And I was in front row, Biloxi Gulf Coast Coliseum in front of him,, was absolutely blown away! Such a great guitarist that it seems everyone overlooks!

Both Jake E. Lee and Bob Dailey, who was the primary song writer on both Blizzard Of Oz and Diary of A Madman with Randy Rhoads , were screwed out of the credit and royalties by Sharon Osbourne.

He got fired after Sharon did the same thing to Jake w/ the Ultimate Sin album. Jake had told Ozzy before working on the third album together, he wanted his royalties for his contributions to the new album. Sharon fired him. Jake then went on and created one of the best blues rock bands of that era Badlands. Jake is an amazing player. And Travis all this came out after Jake was fired. Eventually Jake and others in that Ozzy camp have talked about it in interviews etc. They can be found on YT as well as a google search.

Saw him live with Red Dragon Cartel. He was on par with Randy Rhoads for sure.

I absolutely LOVE Jake E. Lee! I've seen Ozzy many times, unfortunately never with Randy, but the shows with Jake were amazing. Why did he put up with the contract at that time? He was a single father with sole custody of his daughter, and needed the gig, until he realized how much he was being screwed out of. He probably would have been Ozzy's guitarist even if Randy hadn't died, because Randy was quitting to do more classical guitar after the 1982 tour. He would try to put his own spin on the Black Sabbath and Randy solos, but still staying true to them, if that makes sense. I can't stand how Zak does them, but I like his non-Ozzy stuff. Check out the music Jake has done since, including Badlands and Red Dragon Cartel. He does Blues Metal so well! And to prove he is badass, he broke his leg onstage one time, and finished the show, because the adrenaline kept the pain at bay. 🤘💖

Travis asked how do we know for sure if Jake couldn't talk about it, well buddy 1987 was a long time ago so you don't really think that contract could muzzle him forever do you?

Unfortunately I couldn't get bark at the moon or the Jake E Lee version of shot in the dark past the censors. When included it was getting blocked. I have the original video at home but had to censor those two tracks out.

I also preferred Jake TBH. As far as the contract thing goes. Let's just say the apple didn't fall far from the tree where Sharon is concerned, her dad (Don Arden) was basically a gangster.

Disagree, Jake is playing Randy's material better than the OG, just listen to that monstrous clean shredding with phenomenal vibrato and bending. Randy couldn't play like that, at all.

Agreed. 6/11 solos were Randy solos (which he played fantastic, but RR played better), 1/11 was a Tony Iomi solo and the other 5 were Jake’s

To Ozzy Purists. Jake E. Lee did a great job of playing Randy's songs. But, was never given proper due for songs he actually wrote with Ozzy. A fantastic player. Not underrated whatsoever...just treated like shit.

He’s not wrong. Jake replaced Randy as Ozzys full time guitarist. Brad was only slated to finish the diary tour, and do the Speak of the devil tour. He was never supposed to be permanent.

It’s terrible that Sharon Osbourne absolutely screwed Jake out of publishing rights, money, and eventually his job as Lead Guitar! She has screwed over so many different bandmates of OZZY’S bands that it’s INSANE! She is THE DEVIL!
