David Bowie certainly captured the world’s imagination. He spanned several genres, and his ability to assume different identities made him mysterious and sought after in an attempt to learn his perceived secrets. RIP David. You are missed. ♥️✌🏼😎

David Bowie is the coolest. He created Ziggy because he's manager rip him off for everything he had. So he reinvented himself and started again.

Ziggy era Bowie, with his amazing backing band, the Spiders from Mars, was for me his most rocking and best work, there is a timeless quality that still kicks in the 21st century to these amazing musicians and one of a kind front man. For more try Suffragate City, Moonage Daydream and his epic Width of a Circle. Mick Ronson on searing lead guitar is amazing in studio but brings it up another notch live. Enjoy! 🎸🎵

His themes in many of his early albums are based on cutting edge Science Fiction novels of the time.

"Ziggy Stardust" was Bowie's "Alter-ego" in the early 1970s. Bowie was more than a singer/songwriter, he was an on-stage actor, as well as movies. He was a "performer." So talented. One day, his wife came home, to find David, and his best friend Mick Jagger in bed together. I guess Boys will be boys.

I was lucky enough to see him live twice during his time, and he was just mind-blowing good .Along side with his fellow musicians.

Awesome. I think the 2nd mic is actually for his acoustic guitar. One reason you don't hear much of it, because Bowie was moving around a lot. Great stuff.

I got to see Bowie during his Thin White Duke phase. It was a great concert, but it was just him and his band playing the music. I promised myself if I ever get to see him do a full show I would go. Years later, a group of friends and I saw for the Glass Spider tour. That was a great concert, and I got to see him perform a full show. R.i.p. David Bowie, even when dying he had the class to say goodbye with the song Lazarus.

Using two mics for noise cancellation. Combining outputs of both at equal gains, but in opposite polarities, will cancel ambient noise from each to a certain degree.

Backstory. Kel Rhoads took young Randy Rhoads to this Tour at the Santa Monica Auditorium. Randy saw Guitarist Mick Ronson play and immediately Cut his hair like Ronson, Dressed like Ronson and got a Guitar like Mick Ronson and became Ronson’s Doppelgänger

Mick Ronson probably the most underrated guitarist ever & for me if it wasn't for Ronson I don't think he wouldn't have had the world wide fame he did he wrote most of the string arrangements on his songs on Ziggy & Hunky Dory

Pretty much correct about the 2 mics. One for the PA, one for the mixing desk/recording. You see that a lot from those days when a band is performing live on TV or on a recorded concert.

He struggled to make a break through in the sixties and then he started to take on personas but more importantly he got together with Lead Guitarist Mick Ronson and the legend was created

Gotta remember, he was high af during this time and yes, in his own words, he was out there. I think he once said he was not a rock star, he was an actor portraying a rock star, so these are characters he created, Ziggy Stardust, The Thin White Duke, etc.

If yall ever do another Bowie video, do Moonage Daydream live 1973. Same Era, same album. And Mick Ronson (blond guitarist) goes OFF in that performance. Adds like a full minute and a half to the solo

Ziggy Stardust changed the course of music history as we know it. Not to the extent of the Beatles, of course--no one's had their impact since them--but an immensely important influence on the music scene that came pretty directly out of THIS band project and the whole Ziggy narrative, nevertheless. This record's important to the birth of glam, of punk, of grunge, and of metal, as well as a great many bands who could be said to fall somewhere near or in between those three (Nirvana, for example). This album represents the most important Bowie.

It's one of those covers, like Nirvana's "The Man Who Sold The World", that once you hear them it's hard to go back to the originals.
