This song is anything but Lazy! Loved this album since it`s release in 1972, 1972, wow I was only 15 then but still getting played today.

This song is a killer and the version they do on the LIVE "Made in Japan"-album, where John Lord and Richie Blackmore does call and response is even better. This Purple lineup was the best.

That organ intro = slowly waking up, but not wanting to get out of bed. But you know you have to. Think of it like that, and the rest of the song really falls into place. Epic track from an epic album!

Jon Lord controlling "The Beast" ( Hammond organ through a Marshall amp). Nothing like it. He just lets it roar throughout the album. Absolutely brilliant.

The first album I bought when it came out so many years ago(I was 12). Where everyone else loved Smoke on the Water, I spent hours just listening to Lazy, over and over. Changed my love of music forever.

I'm 65. Grew up on Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Supertramp and Uriah Heep (very underappreciated band). But the record for most albums in my collection went to Deep Purple. Try Highway Star (oowooh) or My Woman from Tokyo.

This is one of the only songs I know of where they do the leads before the vocals. But Made In Japan is their best album. What I really like about y'all is that you're not afraid to rock out. Keep on keeping on!

Fantastic song, I saw them at the O2 in London on the 06th of this month and they played this song, you should review some of that gig bearing in mind they are now in their late 70s and not in their 20s, Great review

Saw this tour in Buffalo in 1973, at a dragstrip in a light rain. Dropped a hit of acid, the 500 micrograms 70s style of acid. What an experience!

One of the top 5 heavy rock albu.s of all time, great blues song, virtuoso guitar work, ritchie obviously blues based with his own completely original take on it, he is in the top 3 or 4 modern electric guitaris definitely

The song is about a heroin junkie, "Lazy"" being a euphemism for all the classic addict behavior described in the lyrics.

One of the greatest Rock bands ever! And still an incredibly awesome album. Never forget the first time I played the album. My friends and I were floored!!!! I noticed this must be a revised version of the song. Still like the original the best but very cool to listen to.

That is one of my favorite songs by the mark 2 lineup ,you should hear chasing shadows from the mark 1 lineup or demons eye from the mark 2 lineup but I love all of Deep Purple songs

You should check out the cover of this by Joe Bonamassa and Jimmy Barnes. As always, Joe cuts loose on guitar and Jimmy gives a vocal that only Jimmy can do!
