"more precious" but ultimately without meaning. The only way you can get out of this is to attack religion and say it's self-deception. To say it's just as ultimately meaningless. The point is to defend atheism you need to attack religion because atheism itself has no meaning to life and can never have any meaning. Your argument needs to focus on religion instead of vacuous atheism which by default is empty and can never be anything more.

The universe is an incomprehensibly vast expanse, comprising approximately 400 billion galaxies spread across 93 billion light-years. Within our own Milky Way galaxy, there exist 100 billion stars, and our solar system is home to eight planets orbiting the Sun, which is considered a medium-sized star. Current estimates suggest there are roughly 10 septillion planets in the universe. The Drake equation, a mathematical model used to estimate the likelihood of extraterrestrial life, suggests that within our Milky Way galaxy alone, there could be around 40 billion planets capable of supporting life. But leave it to the creationists (especially christians) to indoctrinate the gullible that god created this vast Universe, chose a rock in a middle of nowhere and created men and women starting with Adam and Eve. The sole purpose of god’s vast creation you ask? The whole purpose of this vast creation is so that omnipotent god can have a personal relationship with the humans having average Intelligent Quotient of 95 and are two chromosomes away from our relatives on the evolutionary tree. Humans were created with the purpose that we can pray to him, beg for his affection, love him, confess our sins, and ask for forgiveness for whatever sin god created until the day we die. Some of the lucky ones get to spend eternity praying to the megalomaniac in heaven while he burns the rest for eternity however asserting he loves them very very much. If the creationist’s reasoning for the existence of the vast entire universe sounds imprudent, then it is just that…. foolish.

Just gullibility is not enough, you need active brainwashing and indoctrination during childhood AND preventing access to proper education to keep religion alive. If we look at data of US population, over 50 % of young people is not interested in the church despite highly religious society especially in southern states (bible belt) because of public schools and scientific classes. Sadly homeschooling and religious schools (both elementary and high) are still thing so there are still about 30 % od creationists in the US. In Europe, the situation is completely different. I read a psych textbook once with a section on positive psychology. From what I remember, religion, particularly being active in a religious community, is associated with people living longer and rating themselves as having higher wellbeing. Now, this is from memory, so I could have misrepresented the finer points. But ever since, I wonder if this benefit is mostly because religious people (I'll use Christians as an example because they are familiar to me) believe they have a personal relationship with someone who loves them unconditionally, or is the effect from purpose and service and community? If it is the latter, perhaps the religious/congregational humanism movement should be more heavily invested in so non-believers can have these same benefits.

"what's so EASY about loving YOUR ENEMIES ?" or something like that... so that's one of Jesus commanded us to do IF ONLY IF you truly love Jesus as your SAVIOR can you really love your Enemies ? or can you finish or excel at something ON YOUR OWN ? though.... it's fine if you don't want to folow Jesus nor you don't wanna be Christian... but it's OK... being CHristian is more on a VERY NARROWED road... the BOARDER road is the road to HELL so if we can follow Jesus teaching us about "love your enemies" then we'll have world peace immediately... so if we follow Freedom ? sure that's what God given us... and unfortunately not jus us but also Satan....think about it ... even IF we got time machine then we can go back in time then hey ! let's kill Hitler ! or evne let's kill Hitler when he was just a Baby ... that mindset about killing just made us on a very low level and made us worse than Hitler then some of you might say that why doesn't God kill Satan already ? well then we might have a Demon who's even worse than Satan himself and there's an information that there was this Assassination Attempt on Hitler Plan then got rejected... why ? the reason is you probably just wanted Hitler as the ONLY bad guy here cause if we successfuly assassinated Hitler then there will be someone who's EVEN WORSE than Hitler to rise up so would you like a worse Hitler/Satan ?

The concept of the last days in both Islam and Christianity is dangerous and potentially destructive to humanity. In Christianity, believers anticipate the return of Jesus (a mythical Jewish man), while in Islam, believers anticipate the physical entry of Allah (same copied concept of Christianity). This anticipation is rooted in the belief that salvation will be granted to them, rescuing them from a supposed burning furnace akin to the gas chambers of Hitler, which Jesus is said to have built during the 1st century in Israel. Essentially, Jesus was believed to be saving a few from his own impending punishment. I can prove that the author of the Quran simply borrowed his beliefs from the Mishnah, New Testament Apocrypha, and the Talmud and expressed them poetically. They are not revelations from God. Except for a few verses, there is hardly any truth in the Quran, Hadith, or the Bible. The concepts of hell, heaven, the last days, judgment, resurrection, and salvation, as described in the Bible or Quran, do not exist in reality.

And every day God shows me the future & it all comes true within hours. It has made my life extremely interesting & added another dimension to life that nobody else appears to have. I walk with God & God constantly educates me & shows me the future & takes me to the heavens & beyond. I can still live my ordinary mundane material life while at the same time witnessing the higher life that we all return to after death. Religion is absolutely essential but it must advance its knowledge of God all of the time. It's always changing its rules to keep in touch with society & it must also continuously update its knowledge of God & the spiritual side of life in order to remain connected to the living God.

If the atheist is one who has entertained with the conclusion of there being a God and finding that conclusion ridiculous, well then what led that atheist to such a conclusion? If what led that atheist to such a conclusion was based not on any actual evidence that disproves the existence of even a God who is believed to withhold evidence of their divinity on purpose, because after all, we are not talking about whether a supposed hidden treasure hidden in the Caribbean Sea, we are talking about a sentient being, who can make their own decisions on what to reveal and what not to reveal. To just look at a lack of evidence for the existence of a certain hidden treasure seems reasonable to be doubtful that such a treasure exists because it’s unreasonable to assume that a treasure has sentient intelligence and can make a decision as to whether or not that treasure wants to reveal itself. However, when it comes to determining whether it’s reasonably doubtful for the existence of a God, by merely looking at the lack of evidence for that God, just the mere lack of evidence is not a reasonable outlook because it’s believed that a God is capable of making up its own mind, so it’s possible that the lack of evidence for that God could be due to divine willful intent to withhold that evidence. Well anyhoo, the main point is when the atheist finds the existence of a God to be ridiculous, is that conclusion based on actual evidence that establishes fact, or is that conclusion based on just an assumption without supporting evidence, such as based on a lack of evidence for a God, it means that that God doesn’t exist. And if it’s the latter, then that conclusion is a conclusion based on BELIEF. That’s because: Fact = evidence Belief = no evidence
@enlacostaizquierda6 ай бұрын
You're failing to comprehend the Null Hypothesis. Or do you believe in leprechauns? What evidence do you have to prove they don't exist? You can't simply assert something like a god exists and then claim not finding evidence of that god's existence is a requirement.
@kevinx70156 ай бұрын
@@enlacostaizquierda What alternative is there when there is no evidence FOR AND no evidence AGAINST a God? Well, if you are only going to look at one aspect in regards to no evidence, well then since there is no evidence supporting the conclusion that there is no God then then it’s logical to accept the alternative that there must be a God, So what is your point regarding the Null Hypothesis?
@majmage6 ай бұрын
1. You're wrong about belief. It's defined as, _"an acceptance that a statement is true or that something exists."_ So whether you have evidence or not, if you acccept an idea is true, it's a belief. 2. Truth is the set of facts about reality, so the only way for our beliefs to match it is by detections of reality (we call that "evidence"). 3. We don't have evidence of a god. So we don't know one exists. Well when we don't know something, the only rational position is non-belief. On the topic of gods, _that's atheism._ Non-belief or disbelief in any god. 4. So do you see how sentience really has nothing to do with it? For us to know something takes evidence (whether that thing is sentient or not), and so if we don't have evidence of gods or your treasure, then we don't know they exist. If truth is the goal to our beliefs, then we must not believe things are true unless we have good reason (unless we have evidence). 5. The existence of God (specifically capital-G, the name of the Christian god) is ridiculous, because the attributes Christians say that god has (all-knowing, all-powerful, all-good, caused everything, and interested in our belief/worship) _contradict reality._ We live in a reality where we don't have reasonable evidence of God, yet if a god existed with those attributes, we'd clearly have evidence. So due to that problem (called Divine Hiddenness) and another problem (the Problem of Evil), we know God in particular doesn't exist. This doesn't rule out other gods. But my earlier point remains true for all those other gods: knowing requires evidence, which we lack, so we don't know any gods exist at all. So we shouldn't believe.

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. - Isaiah 1:18 -

"The more that the world moves to godless atheism, the more violent and intolerant it is becoming." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Total nonsense. " -Revelation -" Ancient book of fairy tales, irrelevant. "and let us reason together" You don't want reason, you want cult. Not interested, people are doing BETTER without any fictional supernatural sky wizard. "- Isaiah 1:18 -" Ancient book of fairy tales, irrelevant.

You are referring, of course, to the "good old days" with little or no violence. Apart from World War I. And World War II. Or Korea... or Vietnam... The good old non-violent days of Al Capone... of Bonnie & Clyde. The KKK and segregation... We don't even have witch-trials any more, today.
