Have had the Supermax 19-38 for the past 8 years prior to Laguna buying them out. Love it and have never had a problem with it

I have one of these - love it - awesome - had it about a year, can thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a drum sander! Just make sure you have a good dust extractor! Fortunately mine works a treat so almost never get any airborne dust, but don't say I didn't warn you!

Great unboxing Andy...this is going to be so useful to potential buyers.... Thanks for the shout out... Still loving mine. Used it today on a new commission for a large End Grain board my customer is going to mount on a trolley. I am really looking forward to the next video and see what you think of it, Thanks for the link to my store.. Cheers Paul

Cheers Paul, Thank you for the recommendation - this has quickly become a key part of my workflow. And you where right about the stand and castor combination. Good solution for the small shop. Cheers Andy

My Laguna 1632 arrived yesterday from IGM, so I'm happy I found your video series on this drum sander. Mine looks identical to yours, including the packing material.

David & Chris at Bivens are quality folk, very helpful and knowledgeable 👍🏻 nice buy the Laguna products are top notch. I got the C flux extractor another game changer I think. Looking forward to your review, I’ve got an Axminster version which is ok but find I still need to run a random orbit sander as there can be fine track lines in the workpiece.

Thank you for the input. Yes agree very good company / hence the shout out. And of this is an example of Laguna quality - wow great stuff. Cheers Andy

@@TheWoodgrafter yep a father & son business on the outskirts of Blackpool tucked away on an industrial estate very well stocked and main dealer for Laguna. I pop in there on a regular basis a real alladins cave.

I dropped them a line last night to let them know I have mentioned them in a video. I will probably pop along and have a look Covid allowing. Cheers Andy

I have now run out of space, I had to scrap my old hand tool bench and re-structure the shop. Worth it though.

Yep. Same here. Not convinced by the antiquated propositions from Axminster. This one is far superior in design and function. Got it in February 2021 (from IGM tools, recommended). Well worth the investment AND the ground it stands on: it is a substantial machine… Highly recommend mounting the stand on castors to manage the different lumber sizes going through. Hooked to an AT50E 1HP extractor through an ACCIH cyclone: works like a charm!

Is that a Wixey digital gauge, I have one on my table saw. A brilliant bit of kit.

Hi Chewy, Hope you are all well. Not sure on the brand of it. No obvious manufacturer markings. It could well be as it looks very similar. But is works very well. Cheers Andy

@@TheWoodgrafter The digital gauge has "Wixey" on the front face, so it is likely a Wixey. 🙂

Andy, I'm considering this but I want to know if it will fit into the space I need. It will be on a rollout cart. I just need to know the total width of the machine (Counting the motor, of course) and the front to back measurements. I'm in America, but I use the metric system so no need to convert. If you could put that here, it would be greatly appreciated. I can't find the measurements anywhere. The only thing I can find is including the stand and it has some crazy measurements listed. Thank you for your help!
@TheWoodgrafter3 жыл бұрын
Hi Brent, Sorry for the delay on this one. This is strange machine to measure, it is full of various sticky out bits. I have made a quick video that show the key measurements. I will edit it to today and post on Vimeo and add the link to this message. Cheers Andy

@@TheWoodgrafter THAT, was so far above and beyond the response I was expecting! You answered every question I had and some I hadn't thought to ask! Andy, you truly are the nicest woodworker on youtube. This is all I need to get to work on it. In the next 2-3 years I will be building my dream shop and there will be twice the floor space I'll ever need, but for now, I'm just in my garage (I'll even pronounce garage in an english accent to show my appreciation) and I have limited space. You're the best Andy! Thank you.

Hi Brent, Glad I could help. I am envious of your dream shop - I have now run out of space. So need to find something in the future. I don’t think you will ever have more space than you need. I thought I had competed my shop when the CNC arrived - but now I have discovered laser cutters :-) It never ends. Take care Andy

Great review again Andy, I pretty keen to see your experience with regards to the drum sander/conveyor belt parallelism. I have a Jet 16/32 unit which is a real pain to get this parallelism accurate. Particularly interested in the adjustability of this unit. Cheers mate.

Hi Rob, I walk through that in the next video, it is super easy on this machine. I am not familiar with the Jet adjustment so can’t comment on it. Andy
