Yes! With the biblical feasts going on, shoulder issues, my b’day and family visiting, I had to pause my work some, but I should be able to start working on the next batch of videos next week 🙏 Thank you for being here and for your patience 😇🙏

Hello again, Ayelet, I am really curious about something. Languages change over time, and Psalter was written 3000 or so years ago. Before nikud were added, bet was always written the same everywhere, so was kaf etc. Now, I understand that nikud were added to reflect the correct pronunciation at the time... But pronunciation changes, especially over many centuries. Now, for example, they say that in classical Latin letter C was always pronounced as K, regardless of what letter followed (whether it was CA or CE, CI, or whatever else). Then, several centuries later, the pronunciation of that same letter C was softened if it was followed by E or I, so it was no longer pronounced as K in those cases. In all other cases it would still be pronounced as K. Is it possible that something similar happened with Hebrew? What I am trying to say, is it possible that, during the time of Saint King and Prophet David, or even before, of Saint Prophet Moses, that BET was always B (and never had V sound), and that KAF was always K and never KH? Thanks in advance and may the Lord Jesus Christ keep you safe and sound!

Shalom, That's a good question. It is possible but I do believe that overall, the scribes did a good job preserving the sounds from generation to generation. For a more in-depth answer, see these articles: www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/pronunciations-of-hebrew www.thetorah.com/article/how-was-the-hebrew-of-the-bible-originally-pronounced
