For all the spru stuff I highly recommend a single blade nipper. It's much easier to get a flush smooth cut. And it glides through the plastic like a hot knife through butter. They are a bit expensive but it's definitely worth it.

Alot of fiber optics went into my control panel, it took a while but well worth it, i also cut one of the floor panels out and scratch built the place where Chubaka shocked Hans so many memories Wayne

I finished mine in February! This is fun to watch because there was so much that we did in the early stages of the build that I had completely forgotten. I didn't document things as much back then!

Well for one, I will be receiving mine this coming week. My subscription from 1 to 100 the millennium falcon. I didn’t have to wait a whole year and spend a crazy amount for this kit. Buyee the place to find it if you’re lucky and patient enough.

I am definitely loving this build. I'm glad you are doing this and sharing it with us. The Millennium Falcon is by far one of my favorite spaceships of all time. Thanks, Wayne.

Nice video, Wayne. Quiet the coincidence, but we're on the same packs for the falcon. I also noticed that you didn't glue the doorway in the cockpit. Adding the optional details is so worth it, in my opinion. I used a black panel line accent paint on the floor, and it looks pretty good. Catch ya in the next vid.

I wonder if you could resin print a chubacha and Han to fit in the cockpit

My skills are far too basic for a build like this, quite happy sticking with KITT for now but might pick up ET or RoboCop. Also, I suspect you may be acquiring those little paper pots you're using for paint from McDonald's? 🤪
@rickgregory9616 Жыл бұрын
I find it interesting the instructions are suggesting painting/weathering. It would seem to me, like all other partworks, that that kind of details would already be done. With how expensive this kit is, having someone without any painting experience, let alone weathering to try these suggestions is risky.

The balance of price versus man-hours on a factory production line. I see no problem with being able to enhance the appearance, it IS a personal preference. This isn't Lego, after all.

I want to do this build so bad, but I don't have a large enough space to display it after it's finished. It's really big. Wish I chose this one instead of the Delorean. It is giving me headaches having to band-aid everything I put together.

@WorldofWayneUK You're going to want to do a lot more light blocking. The sections you cut away still leave insufficient plastic thickness to prevent light leakage. You can see it at timestamp 17:37

Hi wayne does this bring back happy memories of the first melenium falcon build

It does. The Intstructions have definitely changed though. I remember it describing some painting and weathering techniques, but not this much.

If the detail parts are of a standard polystyrene plastic, i.e. 'Aiirfix' kit type, you WILL be better off using Tamiya extra thin liquid cement rather than that CA... will hold better and set up faster too, and you can't easily stick yourself to the model with it either....
@timduggan1461 Жыл бұрын
I think the parts are an ABS or resin. Tamiya styrene cement won't work
@WorldofWayneUK Жыл бұрын
Yep abs

love watching you build the falcon .... but feel this video was very rushed through , like it was something you just need to get done and out of the way

I have to keep the video less then 20 mins or the algorithm kills me. Its the editing that may make it seemed rushed.

sorry i meant no disrespect i have watched you from the fist falcon every video, live stream for years loved every minute but in the early yeas it was watching a fellow modeler solving every day problems we all face and how to solve them i feel something has been lost . with that being said i do understand the limitations editing ect can make thing look

Hello. For some viewers who think that it might seem intimidating? I started building traditional styrene model kits at about age 8 or 9. Also quite a few R/C airplanes in my teens. So, I gained experience. Five decades' worth. "If" you are uncertain, after investing into this kit build? I'd suggest getting a small plastic model kit to practice on. Find techniques that work for you, and there are plenty of instructional videos on KZbin!!!
