It's quite surprising how quickly this frame grows and storing it can be fun and as it gets bigger it dawns on you how big the completed model is going to be mine as you know Wayne sits pride of place in the living room in it's own box. Oh and are the birds chicks ? that's what it sounded like

Im doing this kit, too. I've been disappointed with Fan Home, as they've put the price up already, and they're having supply issues, and we're only 1/4 of the way through the build!

Ref going into metal. You mentioned well cut threads Wayne. There's no paint on the frame you need to cut through either, so no oil needed.

Gorilla brush on glue or The Range Brush on glue is perfect

7:31 question. Even though that ring is holding the corridor together, what is your thought on running an ultra thin cement just on the seam on the outside? Would the capillary action fuze the parts together and give it a little extra hold, or not really? I just worry because, in the eventuality I ever DO get to do this model (come on Fanhome US), the last thing I want is for that to come apart while inside the ship.

Hi Wayne, I was curious about the quality at first from FanHome, and after I've received the first 3 packages I've stopped immediately this project... do I missuserstood this model in that case that the advertisement was showing ALL parts are ready painted and the reality shows a completely different world... Do I need to paint this model afterwards ? and if yes which colour codes must be used ? I've asked EXACTLY this question to the FANHOME support, but I've never got an answer on this.... Also: I guess an AIRBRUSH must be used ??? That's why I was switching the project to STAR TREK ENTERPRISE 😂😂😂😂

Yer this model won't need painting but it gives you the options and instructions to paint it to be more studio accurate

How recyclable do you find all the modelling detritus from these BYO builds? The packaging (seems to vary by council whether they take plastic bags or not), empty sprues etc.? Really like that the Batman Tumbler comes in cardboard boxes, would like to see more of that! 👍

Hachette use mostly cardboard. For the others it has got better

Hi Wayne! I’ve been following you for some time. I had a question. I have been waiting for my 23rd package of the fanhome build your own R2D2. I am located in America. The payment came out over a month ago and it still hasn’t shipped. When I try to contact them, it directs me to WhatsApp and I get the same generic response and am told it will shipped out soon and it’s been escalated to the proper department. But they can’t or won’t give me any estimate of when it would ship. At this point it is over a month behind. Now Fanhome won’t even respond to my inquiries. Had you ever experienced that with them?

Hi Wayne ,question I've started building Optomus Prime I had my 1st Box last month agora took another payment what I thought was about 2 weeks later so 2 payments in one month does agora send boxed out late watching u they looked pretty on it when delivering or can they also be hit and miss, it looks like a couple of these companies are abit hit and miss on regular monthly deliveries who in your opinion is the better company for better service cheers Wayne.
