Fixing Daz Materials in Unreal Engine

Sometimes the skin of our Genesis 8 characters can come out a bit too shiny in Unreal Engine. I'll show you how to fix this and explain how Daz to Unreal deals with materials and how Material Instances work in Unreal Engine.

Hey! Nice to see tutorials on daz to unreal workflow. Quick tip for you. Instead of using a preview animation you can actually just change the rotation of the environment lighting in the top right tab called "Preview Scene Settings" and then under lighting you can find "Lighting Rig Rotation".

Uhh... in Genesis-9 no lips color, i find this in Makeup Head but its need Makeup texture too. With eyes problems too - i wanna change color too like a genesis-8 but Genesis-9 again have only one material - its change color for all eye, i think its need too Makeup texture or something else, but i dunno how i can make it.

My character have genitalia, and this gen materials all broken after export, possible something make it with it?

any idea why I don't have a face element after import? Also, there's no skin on my character. the bod and arm uvs are there, but they're not doing anything. can't wrap my head around it.

Too many material slots are not optimized way. How can I minimize the slots ?

You could remove/amalgamate material zones in Daz Studio before transfer, or even use a different UV set and bake all textures into an atlas.

I'm not familiar with Style3D, so I'm not sure if Daz clothing can be simulated with their plugin. I'll take a look at it though and see if it's something I can explore in the future. Thanks for the tip!
