Are those projection templates limited to geneis 9? I do not have all those same options. I have been scouring the internet trying every tutorial I come accross on how to get shoes (high heels) I've built in blender to work on Genesis 8 and I have not had any success thus far. The shoes turn into a mangled mess.

Indeed, other figure generations have their own templates, and how well they work will depend on the Genesis generation. Shoes were always a complete and utter nightmare in Genesis 8.

Thanks for this demo of ERC Freeze. Do you know if this can work across multiple objects/figures using a single slider? For example, a figure and prop working in unison.

Not that I know of. A slider can only control the properties of the figure/object it belongs to, although it can automatically dial up a morph of the same name in followers (like clothing). Props are usually not followers, so I guess that mechanism doesn't apply.

I saw a cybertruck in Stockholm, they are so ugly lol Personally I could never drive a ecar, knowing people are slaving & dying but especially the kids as young as 5 are dying mining for the cobalt that goes into the batteries. Im all for making the environment better but not at the direct cost of childrens lives. We wouldnt let our kids do it, so why should their kids be forced to it? Its up to the people like Musk & those investing & buying to stop it & make sure those that does the mining get a fair pay & life for it.

You’re a life saver! I followed your tutorial and was able to connect to my Dell laptop! The key was to keep holding the power button of the Apple keyboard and then left click, you’re a genius :)

You could remove/amalgamate material zones in Daz Studio before transfer, or even use a different UV set and bake all textures into an atlas.

Could you tell us about how to export combined morphs to workable shape keys in Blender? I can export morphs like JawOpen, EyesLookingUp,.. but for combined morphs like Happy, Angry, Sad,... although they do show up as Shape Keys in Blender (for whole Shape, Mouth, Eye, Clothing...), but sliding them doesn't affect the model in Blender.

While this is an improvement I still see quite a bit of clipping with chaos clothing, mainly when using only the "follower clothing" portion of the tutorial on tight fitting items.

Again a WOW Moment for me! Many thanks for going into the details! By the way... Do you know how to create dependencies? It would be interesting to know... Say when you fold out the back thingy, the flaps left and right, should synchronously flap out. In poser you can edit dependencies between the movements of different bones. -but till today I haven't found that functionality in DAZ.

Again a fantastic tutorial that helps me a lot!!! Maybe I can help you out with something I have learned in Poser -and that is also described in DAZ documentation.. -That will make your life easier while rigging 🙂 When defining the Rotation Order (abc) for any given bone (even the root bone) you can proceed like this... a. The fist axis of o bone is the axis that gets lengthwise through the object. If the object could twist around an axis, it would be this axis. b. The axis noted in the middle is the least important axis when it comes to bending. -the one most likely to never reach 90° of rotation c. The third axis is the one who most likely will reach 90° of rotation (so it is the most important rotation axis) Imagine your rifle, say in the side view. Shaft to muzzle (where the bullet comes out) lengthwise, parallel to the floor. -the gun pointing away from you a. For your root bone, needed or not, the twist axis would be Z b. Imagine your rifle is made by rubber material. If you would support the gun at the shaft, wouldn`t the muzzle not hang down towards the floor... So the gun would mainly bend arround the X axis. Means the least important axis for bending is Y c. already in b explained... the main bend Axis is X The rotation order for the root bone is ZYX. Why should you care? ... The advantage of giving the rotation order correct is that by doing it correctly, the center point and the end point will be aligned correctly. -You could save some time aligning them. Hope you are not angry about this reply, but I think it might be useful. By the way, as English is not my native language it is very hard for me to explain such a complex thing..

A little late to the party, thanks for the updated retargeting tutorial for UE 5.4+ Just a quick question. I'm not too familiar with blender but when importing into blender, making the sculpting and brush changes to tweak the clothes, after I go to export using the settings you suggested, the model comes back a huge mess. The Output Log in UE5 recommends me enabling the "Export Smoothing Groups" pre-export, but I don't see that option in blender, I'm using blender 4.3. For the time being I'm doing size tweaking in Daz as quick fixes then reimporting, but if you know of a solution it'd be a big help, thanks in advance!

The smoothing group error isn't something that can be fixed, you can ignore it. If you need to make size changes in import into UE, you can do that on the re-import dialogue (right-click on the skeletal mesh, then select "re-import with new file", then change the scale if necessary).

Great video! Does it mean that it's impossible to record with a wireless mic? I use a waterproof housing to record videos in the backcountry so plugging in additional wires won't work... thanks!

Hi Jess! Sadly yes, if you use a waterproof housing there's no way to record the audio directly to the camera. For those situations I suggest recording the audio separately to something like your iPhone, then match up the footage in post production. Use a sync point for both (movie pros use a clapperboard, but a simple clap with your hands will work so you can identify it later). If the audio from the camera is somewhat usable, you can also use that to sync up the footage automatically if your editor supports it (Premiere does, but it's often overkill to use that function). Hope this helps!

Oh yes, I've played that one too! It was a little blocky, but the story was nice. I also enjoyed the point-and-click Lucasfilm games before that, and the Emperor's Tomb after. Fond memories! Thankfully the advanced access was finally enabled and the play button turned green (three hours after the announced time). I'll play this here over the weekend if it works, I have yet to try it out. 😎

i just bought this it was on sale xD going try tomake some background forest images rendering whole forests takes ages to render xD so I hope this will be better :) have you got any videos on how to make good background images like mountains or forests etc?

I don't have videos on that. I would use a HDRI for the far background and add objects in front. You can also use Ultra Scenery to turn those scenes into your own HDRIs. That way you don't have the heavy geometry it creates as part of your scenes (speeds up navigation and render times). There's also a nice series of products called Mega Terrains by Kindred Arts, those are good packs for background scenery with ground fog and a nice combination of near/far objects.

So yeah, despite best efforts, the game did not release as it should (for me and MANY other players). Some were lucky, but most of us were not. Thankfully I did not pay for the game as it came as part of a new GPU, but I still feel scammed. Thanks for nothing, NVIDIA/Steam (whoever's fault this was).

I'm glad it was helpful! To add this to a sequencer, create a Level Sequence, then select your figure and add it (there's an option on the sequencer that reads "add" at the top left). The standalone quixel has been deprecated recently, so it likely won't support Blender versions higher than 3.6.

@@WPguru I found a workaround on YT that allows us to use existing bridge. You have to install the MSplugin the USER Dir and then modify the file inside of Blender in text editor to see all the materials properly. Works great now.

also tried it with with 5.5 and i had to rotate the root bones axis to 90 degrees. but still the arms dont look right, and when i auto allign the character looks all janky on arms and feet
