Marko is an incredible singer and while this is not a new song, it has been out for 2 yrs ( this is a new video) it's an awesome song. I love it. as for which one next from this album, it doesn't matter I like 'em all.

Was so happy to see Nuclear Blast is finally promoting this project! Pyre of the Black Heart came out (1st in Finnish, then in English) b4 covid lockdowns and Marko did a bunch of gigs (in both languages) b4...then the momentum was stunted. I love this record in both languages...bought them both, listen to both equally. Thank you for supporting Marko Hietala! A legend of a rockstar!

His acoustic set on a Finnish chat show in 2019 is really good. Isäni ääni is a really solid album

If you want to hear Marko’s history, a good video to watch is Marko Hietala-Vocal Evolution 1986-2017. Just for personal listening probably because it’s 44:06 minutes long. 😊💜💚

Really love this album, also love that it is available in both Finnish and English and despite being English myself I manytimes pick the Finnish version to listen to, somehow hits deeper, only way I can describe it. My 11 year old son loves Marko too and grew his hair the same because of him 🖤 but yes, fantastic album!

Live they were brilliant too, saw them in the Melkweg Amsterdam. It was the last show I went to before lockdown, at the last song I did my last windmill. Afterwards the band came to greet in the lobby so I could give them all the thanking hug. I could give Marko a heart shaped rosequarts as a thnxx for all the music and all he gives. He was the last man I hugged until it wasn't scaring the hell out of everyone anymore... his music and that hug were so helpful during the pandemic. (BTW, the album came out in both English and Finnish and is so worth to buy)

Great reaction again Eric. The other day I was rewatching an older reaction from you to Marco, and you wondered what would happen if he collaborates with Arjen Lucassen. Well he did a couple of times. And since you just did a reaction to Blind Guardian, I give you a link to “ Age of Shadows “ it’s a live Ayreon concert, with Hansi and Marco singing. (re: vocal chicanery?) "I didn't say he said she did that." Every change to which words are stressed changes the meaning. You have to admire performers who put in the work to get such things right. Just like there's no separating Janis Joplin from the blues, Marko Hietala could show up clean-shaven in a suit to sing a solemn hymn *and it would still be metal*.

The funny thing is though that some of the songs were first written in Finnish but some in English so neither version of the album is fully "the original." (Dead God's Son being one that was originally in English.)

Commenting as I'm watching. Tony Kakko, if you hear young Tony talking English compared to nearly 48 yr old Tony talking English, it's changed absolutely. Same with Jari from Wintersun. The more Jari does the Wintersun podcast his English cadence has changed.
