One of the most common requests on the channel for XDefiant content is for me to share the best attachments to use in order to win gunfights more consistently so today, I wanted to dive deep into what I consider to be the most important weapon stat to focus on, ADS Strafe Speed.

Maxing out ads walking speed on guns is absolutely noticeable in first person imo. Feel like I’m flying around with the ak Although I will say that the reduction to ads speed and sprint to fire is not worth it to fully max out strafe speed. I typically do small vert (less strafe but increase ads) lightweight stock and QuickDraw grip to negate all the ads and stf loss while still getting +30% strafe speed

Yeah I found this to be the best build as well. The extra 15% are not worth the additional penalties, most importantly to STF

For the longest time, I've been using the reinforced stock (-15% ADS move speed) on the M44. And I couldn't figure out why I was doing so badly compared to the TAC-50, the more sluggish sniper rifle. When I slapped on the lightweight stock, it was a 35% difference in ADS move speed, and instantly I was doing better, just like that, like magic. This stat has been overlooked by me.

Hi Ace, not sure if you're aware of this: Slide-jump-strafing is extremely effective, because your ADS and sprint-out times are lowered*, but also because your ADS Movement Speed is irrelevant (until you land). Only regular Movement Speed makes a difference. Therefore, I personally only care about ADS Movement Speed on my mid to long range builds. Up close with SMGs is all about Movement Speed. *If you run for a while beforehand, sprint-out time seems to be instant, but there's some sort of a cooldown. Even when it's not instant, you can get rid of your sprint-out time by sliding that duration. ADS speed is faster than aiming from a sprint, but slightly slower than aiming while standing still.

Should use small vert grip nstead of leather wrapped grip because it only gives you 5% less ads walking move speed and now downsides other than hip fire spread.

Ace what about if switch the leather wrapped grip for the small vert? It has 5% less ADS movement speed but it also helps with ADS speed too, could be a nice alternative for ARs where you don't wanna hurt ADS speed more than it already is

Is there a max mobility beyond which no more attachments will stack? I know those graphics bars that show how much stronger or weaker your current attachments are making your gun in each category aren't necessarily accurate, but these bars will max out before all possible mobility attachments have been applied to the gun, making me wonder if mobility may be capped?

The most important part you missed is, the hit registration is so bad in this game. That strafing and bunny hopping still works even when your tracking is perfect.

Yeah, I suspect part of the reason strafe speed is so good is that the fast back and forth movement breaks the game's ability to know where you are, effectively giving you brief moments of invulnerability, like dodge rolling in some games. If they ever fix the net code, that strategy may become less effective, but for now it's best to just use it.

Question does anyone think that the servers need to be worked on or the guns or health because I’m on console an I die significantly faster than I can get a kill an sometimes I get kills with less bullets hits so why does everything feel so inconsistent an I mean it’s constantly inconsistent so what needs to be fixed to deal with that because I just feel like I can’t be consistent with anything I use even if I use a gun I like for hrs

The best idea is to go for a blend. But it’s definitely on a case by case scenario. For example. Handling and ADS speed is pointless on a gun like the AK but absolutely needed on the ACR. Meanwhile most smgs have great movement speed and ads speed so they benefit from damage buffs and strafe speed. Examples: AK with compensator, small vert grip, quick draw grip and lightweight stock shreds. You can use a red dot or quick mag for the fifth attachment. Rapid fire isn’t worth it on the Ak. .02 ttk buff for a 20% increase in recoil is trash. For the MP-7. Extended barrel, heavy barrel, small vert, leather grip and lightweight stock is the move. Hope this helps.

@@pubplays368have you tried the vector with heavy barrel, extended mags precision stock and rail grip? It absolutely shreds up close and even with the rate of fire penalty, it still 900 rpm. Absolute laser beam in close quarters. It’s just a pain to level up in the beginning because of the 25 round mag it starts with. Forgot to mention with heavy barrel it goes from a six shot kill to a 5 shot within 14 meters. Great for maps like Echelon HQ and showtime

​@@pubplays368In theory you are right about rapid fire not beeing that good on the AK. But the think is that the attachment is broken. Besides the fire rate, it also improves your recoil by 20% instead of making it worse. So its all upside. Once they nerf this (which obviously wasnt intended) then yes, rapid fire wont be that good anymore.

@@michaelbonavita1800 Yeah the vector with heavy barrel shreds. I run extended barrel, heavy barrel, small vert, extended mags, and lightweight stock on mine. Gun hits hard and fast out to 18 meters with a 1.3ms strafe speed. It’s great.

@@clrl936 Must be a bug that only benefits some people. For me, it makes my AK kick up to the side much more than with out it. I usually run compensator, rapid fire, vertical grip, leather grip, and lightweight stock. Makes the AK a straight beam but as I mentioned. Rapid fire just doesn’t do anything meaningful for the AK. So I usually run fast mags or a red dot depending on my mood.

Having 1.2 or 1.3 for your weapons ads movement speed should be a good middle ground if you want to invest in something else with strafe speed like ads speed or something

Actually, about the aim assist Like MW2019 & MWII, if you sprint, it gets rid of the crosshairs on the screen, and for some reason, that disables the aim assist I hope they fix this issue

Strafe speeds are definitely underrated. Most people are probably either trying to go after speed builds or recoil mitigation. Most players really don't like having to control recoil or feel like they're being held back with their run speeds. Heck, I pretty much use every attachment possible to bump up the M60's ADS speed just because it's so sluggish. But even back in the day when the Stalker perk was around, no one really wanted strafe speeds probably because they think it's so minor it barely helps, when in reality it's massive.

I've been saying this since day 1, glad there's now data to prove it. Also, regarding rapid fire attachments, to me it seems like they only reduce recoil on Assault Rifles (didn't try any of the semi auto guns) when you're not doing any kind of aim input (right stick or mouse), but as soon as you do an aim input, recoil goes back to being increased like it should. On SMGs and Pistols, it never helps your recoil.

Mark Rubin confirmed that in an update soon weapon lvl requirements will be cut in half, so instead of 3,000 xp for 1 level itll be 1,500 xp for primaries, and from 1,000 xp to 500 xp for secondaries. Should be significantly easier once that update drops in a short amount of time

All good info but until that netcode is fixed i am out... Sometimes i am killing way way to fast,other times i am just shooting bb guns to people it seems where they can swallow a magazine,and other times i am being 1 shot with a smg... As long they don't fix these inconsistencies it just is a big no no no for me.. If it was very sporadic i would be okay.. But man it is so so so much and even lobby depended. Once it happens in a lobby you know the whole match is gonna be like that... Like that is a big big no for me. And i would have expected allot more patches but even those are not happening.

Imo the range your fighting at and the weapon you are using will determine that. Within 10-15 meters with an SMG your not really missing and the ttk is much shorter. but once you start increasing that distance and expected ttk the more strafing will have a major impact. I look at it like this if im primarily gonna be fighting at a certain distance is the added amount of time from missed shots gonna be higher than what ads speed would be, and go from there.

My problem is I am dead before I can even ADS. Opponents can run away before I finish the kill or it takes half a mag and then I get killed reloading. I have followed tips for settings but I don’t feel like I have aim assist at all. Your clips show 2 maybe 3 kills before a reload and no other player jumping out at you with inst kills. I am liking this game less and less each day

Play slow and hold lanes. Have your gun aimed and ready and then switch spots and hold another lane and you’ll be more prepared to stay alive longer get more kills.

Like in Apex Legends, this game has recoil smoothing. If you strafe while aiming at a target it removes your recoil.

@@BwoodlyyHard to gatekeep at below a 2kd. Besides. Rapid fire sucks on a lot of the guns. Doesn’t do shit for the AK and MP-7 yet people will swear by it when it only lowers the ttk by .02 in most cases. Meanwhile heavy barrel out here decreases the ttk by .10 on most guns and .06 on the Ak. MP-7 gets a nice buff at .08. There’s only a handful of guns where rapid fire does anything like on the RPK and M60. ACR gets a decent buff of .04.

There is something really wrong with Defiant right now after the update. The game feels more clunky and unstable compared to before. Still getting shot behind walls and stuttering throughout the game. Many times I've had the bug where in mid game, lost all functions beside moving forward and backwards. The game has some really strong points but they need to focus more on the netcode and servers than the weapon progression and skins.
