Another thing I found to be useful against sleeper agent is the sudden appearance of a teammate indicator that is not in the current spawn zone; if you are using sleeper agent in a small map, make sure you use it in an area that is within a general spawn zone. Using sleeper agent on a crate or a weird camping spot will instantly give away your identity.

Just as another tip if youre playing in a full party the name will still show as blue instead of green. Your party member names and icons show up as green random teammates will show up as blue

Something else I would like to point out is that, especially in Search and Destroy, it's not that difficult to track a enemy sleeper agent through a wall. Because that blue dot stays above their head. So if you see a dot moving near where a teammate just died to a sleeper. You can keep track of him through the entire map. Realistically you can also do it in respawn, but there usually is way too much going on to do this effectively.

The best counter is: Fire at everything that moves. With amount of weird skins we currently have it is practically impossible to tell apart friend from foe by playermodel. So players developed natural instinct of "shoot first ask questions later"

Sleeper Agent is a cool field upgrade. Imo if they somewhat buffed the ability, they should match the corresponding skin that players are using. Normally, when you use it, you have the default skin of those operators. Most of my lobbies players have those expensive skins from the shop. Would be a good buff if they did that. If players are smart on what skins teammates are using, it acts like a dead giveaway

For example, the blackcell skins or the battle pass skins. Let's say someone is using those skins and you popped Sleeper Agent. The game gives the default skin of those characters on the opposing side. Not the blackcell or battle skins.

I would like to add one tip to spotting a Sleeper Agent. When you start seeing teammates dropping to a sleeper agent, check where you're seeing the skulls and if there's a blue arrow (sleeper agent) in the corresponding area. That's how I most often figure out who's the agent if I don't have any of the perks to counter it.

Just a slight mistake, the announcer "there is a rat in our ranks" etc, only happens when sleeper agent enemy first kills someone (you first time see the black out name in kill feed) not when the field upgrade is activated. and one more tip - checking time. As sleeper agent has such a long cooldown time (and is not that frequently used, at least as of now in my lobbies) whenever you see there is enemy running it -> check the game time and you know that you are safe from that player's sleeper agent for 3 min, but slightly after the 3minute mark from the time he made his first kill, you can expect that the sleeper agent will be activated again, so be ready for that. And games are not that long so there usually wont be more than 2 (sometimes 3) activations for the same player, so it is not that hard to track. Of course you can bring it to even higher level, and just check the time by instinct every game, because first time you will see sleeper agent in game, will be slightly after 3 minute mark (and most of the player will actually use it shortly after it is available, to get that potential 3rd (well in faster mode even second) use of it. So get in the habbit to be on the lookout for them around minute 3 : 00 - 3 : 15. Or you can even bring it for even next level if you are really pissed of by this field upgrade, and get a loadout with vigilence ready and swap to it whenever you are respawning close to 3 minute mark (and then 3 minute after you see sleeper agent usage). Then swap back to whatever you are running normally after the danger is over. Of course the above point is not bullet proof, because of leavers and backfillers the initial timings could be scuffed. But the "be ready 3 min after you have seen sleeper agent to see another one works everytime.

Most people already know how to detect it. Do you know how long it took me to get my 100 Sleeper Agent kills? A LOOOOONNNG time. Most of the time I got shot by the first enemy I encountered. It is extremely rare that it fools anyone.

I didn’t realize there were so many counters to it. As a sleeper agent player I feel like it needs a bit of a buff to counter how much is working against it. There are three perks, the announcement, the auto aim, and camera, and score streaks that make one of your two uses per round completely useless. I am not saying there shouldn’t be counters, just that they are so abrasive that the interesting and fun gameplay that would come from the perk is extremely rare.

My favorite moment using this was with my partner, we were somewhat apart but still together on rewind in the back near the RV with the long sightline. I was disguised and on one side of the RV, with my partner being on the other side when an enemy came out the store and aimed at us, he immediatly went for her instead of me, netting me the kill. Just a small little moment of hesitation is all I needed and that honestly made the long charge time and numerous hard counters to it worth it honestly.

If you’re paying attention to where the sleeper agent is getting kills at, you can usually pin point which player is the agent because they aren’t in the same general area/direction as your other teammates. And since can see their blue dot through walls, I prefire the corners they run around and it’s usually easy kills

I honestly like the idea of sleeper agent in bo6 - it really fits the game's story and setting, like the idea of getting alerted to look for a sleeper agent. However for the same reason I wouldn't like it as much if it was to carry over to other cod games, and godforbid Warzone xD I was quite spectical about it in Hardcore but since I don't play HC at all, best I can say is that i agree with Ace here that UAV should show "revealed"

I think that the field upgrades needs a modifier with scores in-game so that things like sleeper agents can charge faster if a player is being good in the match. It's pointless that such field upgrades takes forever to be charged while a single perk/perks can easily counter them.

I’d like a field upgrade that works like a spotting scope, but it turns enemy team players names red to look like ours for a brief duration. A “confusion ability” if that makes sense. When this happens, the affected players are subject to friendly fire from their team and their deaths count towards your team. Obviously this is a 10 sec maximum duration ability or maybe less.

My most useful tip if you're a sleeper agent, don't contest objectives. I've killed so many because the site only has a teammate on it but shows as either contested or as being held by the enemy team.

The best tool that works for me is to look toward any Blue dots further away and see the players name when i hear the sleeper agent announcement. If it is an enemy that name will not appear on my team. About 50% of the time I will identify every sleeper agent In about 10-15 seconds that way and than hunt them down. The other 50% are when I am too busy in combat or lack the opportunity to scan my teamates. Sleeper Agent looks to be a fun tool, but observant players in higher skill lobbies will invalidate it pretty quick. Also In "core" lobbies no reason not to shoot your teamates when an enemy has it active either.

Something like this isn’t new. Back during the original MW2, cold blooded pro perk actually turned your name plate off. So those playing hardcore mode were never discovered while hiding behind the bush on that little cliff above the plane in Afghan. And yes there was a bush you could hide behind on that spot.

One weird thing that happens when using Sleeper Agent and I think its a bug, once you activated it, if an enemy is near you, you will hear him say something like "Enemy using Sleeper agent" even if he didn't see you at all. AFAIK, from the enemy player's POV, his character didn't says anything but you heard it for some reason and, if you have good headphones, that voiceline from the enemy character will give you a good directional indication of wherehe is, giving you a potentially free kill

Usually when the announcer states somebody has activated Sleeper Agent, I look at the map and see who isn't with my other teammates. It's usually the guy who's on a part of the map all by himself.

Tracker perk is technically broken when it comes to certain skins used. I believe one of the Blackcell skins leave a flaming footprint on the ground which looks very similar to tracker footprints. They need to fix a lot of the broken skins. The Squid Games are way too similar.

Doesn’t seem to be able to activate it in some maps like stakeout when using the wild card that allows 2 equipments like having a choice between trophy or scrambler as an example. ( the name escapes me right now) When the perk charges up to use it, Sleeper agent comes up as “Not ready”.

The character skin thing doesn't work as the new skins can be used regardless of the side you're on. One of the most frustrating things is to NOT shoot at someone because they look like a team mate, but are the enemy with the same skin.

This gear is fun AF. Does using tact gear or grenades expose you? I like to run the spy camera w it and haven’t noticed anything. Also, strike the enemy team when they’re taking an objective. Run Sam turret and deploy one before you go undercover, then you don’t need ghost as much.

In my opinion there are already more than enough ways for an enemy to flank you on the present maps. It is near impossible to hold a lane in this game compared to previous CODs. Sleeper Agent just adds yet one more way that an enemy can get behind you. I don't think it's a good addition to the game.
