Shack, as I've been playing the mod I discovered a somewhat of an exploit When doing land battles you can use AA turrets to attack ground troops by manually targeting the enemy The AA guns are quite OP with their splash damage and also a range of fire superior to a turbolaser, Knowing Shack he probably won't use it as he's against such tactics, but I guess you can perceive it as a test of your micro and perception abilities, couse it really can get hard to menage all your turrets manually, plus they're more expensive. Anyways great work on the video Shack, as always (although by the time in your campaign I already achieved the victory conditions, you're doing good!)

Yeah the AA-guns are so stupid. I usually sneak some infantry to the back where their landing zone is and just build sensor arrays and AA-guns, so when they invade again I kill them immediately and win the battle... (spawn camping 101)

I’ve been posting messages like this since video one, it’s a really effective way to play and I say it’s fare because enough forces can overwhelm the AA. He also won’t abuse quasar fire bulk cruiser spam.

TheViking King its not really an exploit in my opinion. Because of the very fact they don't have any extra health than the other turrets and as you mentioned, you have to fire them by hand manually. In scifi or rl on the rock paper scissors scale AA > Infantry

A shout of "For the Republic!" or "For the Rebellion!" sounding from each corner.* "Now, let's go get ourselves a governor." *Darren ruffled through a bag he had carried through the streets. A satchel that clanked as he moved it about. Out from it he took what looked to be a detonator. He placed it firmly against the palace door and signaled for everyone to get back. The teenager input the numbers and the clock was ticking. 10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...BOOM!* "Charge!" *And in they went. Blaster fire rang out once more as stormtroopers and citizens alike were cut down. Blam! A stormtrooper shot in the chest now collapsed against a stone pillar. Blam! A citizen fell to the ground as he was struck in the knee. The rioting citizens only became more relentless as their friends were cut down around them. Those fully trained stormtroopers somehow had barely stood a chance. And there they were, standing in the throne room where the Imperial Governor stood with a strange cylindrical hilt in his hand pressing it against the soft robes of the current Queen of Naboo.* "Come any closer and she dies!" *The Governor spoke clearly.* "You're holding a rod, what's it gonna do?" *Darren cocked his head to the side and pointed his blaster at the governor.* *The Governor rose a brow and then pulled his arm away from the Queen, showing the hilt before pressing a switch. "Let's talk about this." *Darren spoke clearly* *The Governor rose the blade over the woman's throat* "This insurgency is over, boy. The riots, the assault, all of it is now over. "Oh I truthfully do, boy." *The Governor kept the blade close to the Queen's throat. She shook somewhat but tried to remain stoic, even as her life was threatened and she was being used as a bargaining chip.* *Darren took a deep breath and then looked to his allies once more* "Leave the palace." *Resounding groans and no's shook the crowd and Darren's voice boomed over it.* "Go!" *The civilians turned and left.* "We're alone now." *Darren spoke with a shaky breath. He dropped his blaster to make sure that the Governor knew he couldn't harm him. No funny business.* "The insurgency is over." *The Governor looked to the Queen and then to the boy* "It seems so." *He held the saber out toward the boy, pointing its blue blade out at him.* "Now, let's get a move on sha-" *BANG!* "Wha-..." *A sizzling hole in the Imperial Governor's stomach, the size of Darren's fist, now sat with the scent of burnt flesh and carbon scoring. The lightsaber that the Governor held in his hand clattered to the floor and shut off. It's blue hue dimming.* *Darren's hand shook as he held the DH-17 outward, he had made the shot. Somehow, he had made the shot. Perhaps through sheer luck he was able to make the shot while the Governor boasted. The Imperial Governor of Naboo clattered to the ground. Darren moved to his body.* "The battle's over." *Darren looked to the Queen of Naboo and nodded his head before he offered the lightsaber hilt to her.* "I don't know who this belongs to but ah...hopefully you'll find them." *The woman nodded her head as she took it and placed it back on the pedestal near her throne.* "Thank you, stranger." "Darren Shel. And uh...part of the job of being a rebel." *The sound of ships soaring overhead could be heard. Three X-Wings, Rogue Squadron had arrived on the surface and that could only mean one thing.* "Naboo's free." *Darren nodded and then walked off from the palace.* *A new transmission* "Seems I missed you, Captain. The battle was over faster than it started and uh...now you're off to fight another battle off somewhere else. I lived, that's what matters. A few blaster shots grazed me but uh...I lived." *Darren looked about the hangar he stood in and adjusted the holorecorder* "I'm getting my ship ready to go. My work on Naboo's over and for now I'm waiting on reassignment." *On screen, a BTL-A4 LP, a Y-Wing Longprobe, was shown. A whistling astromech could be heard off screen as well.* "Captain, this is R4-D5. He's the one who has been recording these logs for you. Uh...guess he wanted to say hi. Either way, you'll never believe what happened. There were stormtroopers and citizens rioting and-...I can barely describe it." *Darren shuddered for a moment* "I...killed a lot of people. Stormtroopers and...even the Imperial Governor. H-He decided to hide himself away in the Theed Palace and hold the Queen as his hostage and when the citizens and I reached the palace he was holding...a lightsaber. I had heard about the Jedi rebellion here on Naboo but, I thought that was a rumor. Turns out that the saber he was holding was some sort of trophy to remind Naboo that the Empire can put down any threat...or something. E-Either way, he's dead now. Still feels weird to say that I've killed someone. Little ol' me with a blaster in hand." *Darren chuckled awkwardly* "It was a long battle but uh...we won. Naboo's free and now I'm off to probably some world a little closer to the Core. More Imperial planets to liberate. Unless I get transferred...again. I really wish I got to shake your hand while I could, Captain, but uh...pretty sure the Liberation was in orbit. And even then, as soon as the battle was over most of the people on the ground were loading back up in their transports. This ends my installment on the Shel logs. Darren Shel out." *And there he was, aboard the Longprobe that he had named the Starstrider with R4 sending out this message. Rising over Naboo's city skyline. He had liberated a world, there were only what...several hundred more to go? The Starstrider slowly left the atmosphere and gone was the teenager who had acted as an operative on the surface. He had another adventure to go on.*

Self reply to not make the story excessively long: Hi yes, I wrote this like 10-20 minutes ago and let me just say I think this is the most effort I've put into a comment. I know that it's a bit different than the normal Shel log but, I wanted to include teenager Darren running through the streets of Theed and shooting things. I have no clue where I'm gonna take things from here. Maybe when we take Illum a new thing for this will happen, maybe Shack needs another planet "scoped" out but uh...either way, this was really fun to write!

After binge-watching this entire series over the past three days and nights, I have finally caught up with everything and must say this really has been a rollercoaster, having me at the edge of my chair biting my nails at points. Now to do the same with Stellaris. Shack is the TV channel i never knew I needed

YAY!!! Woohooooo!!! You captured Naboo! And congratulations on driving back that Imperial fleet. You might not have taken out the Star Destroyer but at least you drove him off. And I still have hopes that you'll engage in another epic space fleet battle like you did towards the end of the first season. Now that your fleet is bigger than it was back then I have no doubts about you being victorious against another massive Imperial fleet. I still dream of seeing you do that eventually. Now just take the combined fleet and attack Sullust. There's a capital ship production facility there so you can get your mission objective. Also I would suggest building the tier 3 technology at The Maw. You have space stations guarding that system now so the Imperials shouldn't be able to sneak into that system any time soon. Also I would recommend building another fleet or at least separating the Ackbar fleet once the technology is researched and have it protect the Rim worlds while Ackbar and his fleet clean up whatever path you chose for it. Might I suggest either the Expansion Regions or the Northern Black Suns? I would suggest taking care of the remaining Black Suns before going for the Core worlds and the remaining Empire.

You should try to take the other planets in the corner around bespin. Bakura can build a unique space structure that can build a special capital ship as well as having a decent income. Ord ibanna is also very useful as it can build tibanna gas mines

The moon of Mandalore is called concordia and concord dawn is a planet that lies within mandalorian territory (seen in Star Wars Rebels). The names are simular so it's easy to get them mixed up Shack! Also great epsiode captain! That speech for Rebel One was a nice touch.

Yes, he should, or at least eliminate everything in the orbits of those planets to make sure nothing too big ground forces wise could get out, and would very much minimize the amount of ships the Empire can produce...though there is the risk of very costly ground invasions since more defenses and troops would be made. Ok, there's good and bad to this plan.

I built my research stations at Hoth and Anoat, since Alluyen is always pretty well defended. Also I find that MC60s make for a good replacement for Quasars once you have the tech. They're basically MC40s that also give 2 x-wings and 2 y-wings

Hey Shack, to get some more B and A wings in your fleets take a couple of the Quasar carriers to a planet with a fighter shipyard and upgrade them. I found it helps to have those extra upgraded fighters it support.

They building the powerful MC-30c, codenamed the capital ship destroyer. It is faster than the mc-40 and holds 30 missile launchers that specialized in ripping through ISD armor. But make sure that they have an escort because the are sensitive to bombings.

not sure if anyone has said this, but that turbolaser on banadan is not marked on the map as a free one. I think your game glitched out and you have a sare turbolaser tower stuck on the map. I would consider either letting it get destroyed or just keep it there to distract enemy fire. seems to work fairly well at that

In my opinion, the empire has the most difficult early game start because your ships are so spread out and you are surrounded. So if you do an empire game, be aware.

Build the tech 3 upgrade at the MAW, then keep a small fleet there to hold it. You don't want it to big, or ships may crash into black holes.

Hey Captain, thanks for yet an other episode. I have to disagree with you on the topic about how effective Rebels can do ground raids. Han, Kyle and Laia all come with real good Commando Units, add two squads of the special trained troops you can build thanks to the Liberations and some Saboteurs and you are really good to go. You can stack up to nine infiltration units and remeber, they can kill building, but if you still need more firepower you can capture enemy vehicles. The next tech tier Station i would build over Raxus Prime, you will have Rhen Var as a Shield the enemy has to go through and you have Mon Calamari right next to it to build a quick defense fleet if needed.

What is the self imposed rule with the Quasars? I know you had mentioned that you'd have five only since they are rather op, but is that five ever or five at any given time? Just wondered since you had lost a Quasar a few episodes back but I don't recall you replacing it. Just wondered exactly how you were playing the Quasars. Shack have you seen the mod for EAW that's called "Republic Assault" ? the graphics are really good but the mod is in progress tho you can download it but there is some bugs and un-finished models but the ones that are looks really good.

I dont understand why Kyle Katarn doesnt have a personal shield generator. Isn't Dark Forces the first game with ground unit shields in all of star wars cannon?
