"On the Bounce" is a very commonly used expression in the book. It's kind of funny that they used it here in this game, but it never gets quoted in any of the film adaptations. The mobile infantry in the book were all kitted out with rocket boosted exo-suits. They would fire off their ordinance mid jump hence the phrase "on the bounce".

You already getting gear like one-two rank above the normal "grunt" so maybe power armour will be in the works too. So far i only wish they actually added extra AI controlled grunts troopers to your buildings and perhaps those huge walkers too as something you call in for large amount of resources? And some bugs look a bit too fast, i would rather see more bugs than Forumla-1 bugs.

The armour, with geo-radar, grenade and mines, etc..,etc.. We have to remind that both mobile suit Gundam series and Metroid was created openly thanks to H.G.Heinlein masterpiece, and obiously Halo game, that still remain 100% of only half of the short story that copied shamelessly. For what i know it was recognized the best sci-fi story of all time, world prized. It's sad that the film is so low quality, low science fiction, and so reduced in content and in the mature message, at the point that the most seminal and inventive science fiction of human history, that was intended as a ferocious satirical indictment against the military and human civilization is become popoular as a childish war propaganda and fascism ideology.

There is a great starship troopers mod for the game Squad 10/10 recommend and they continue to update it, you can easily get 40+ people in it (id actually argue you need atleast 40 people to win depending on the map / game mode) you can build walls and turrets from the movies you can even have someone play as a camera man and it actually broadcasts the footage to a screen inside the command bunker.

This game is such a welcome breath of fresh air. Massive lobby PvE experience, with base building, proximity chat, and objectives. Works so well. & the Starship Troopers aesthetic really amplifies it.

the C4 can be placed , reloaded and placed some more, you can even set and remember it later. to detonate, you need to aim in the general direction, you'll see your icons to detonate. great for base defense, you can stand at N and lay bombs at S, just turn and click-click-click. you'll see the smoke clouds go off to know they've gone off. They dont do damage to yourself so when you run for the dropship, you can lay them down and detonate the bugs behind you

Tiger Bug has been around for over a decade btw ^^ the first FPS Starship troopers game had them. it also had the King Bug, which was a human made bug to take control over from the Queen bugs. but it failed and you ended up having to kill it. it also had the Flyers and the other bugs in the first movie.

Maybe the power armor will be one of the perk upgrades making your character more tanky and possibly some other buffs, but a 4th class with a power armor character would also be very cool. Would also like to see the flamethrower and chemical spray as alternate pick-ups from the generator objective instead of just rocket launchers.

I hope they include more levels hopefully from the likes of the animated series "Roughneck: Chronicles". I believe you had worlds like Pluto (as an ice-planet), a Water-World, Jungle-World, Earth. Also I found out with those Charges that you can also look in the general direction of one and detonate one that I need specifically.

So far I love this game. I've been playing it for around 3 days or so and it's surprisingly toxicity free. I don't think in all the games I've played I've heard one person lose their shit at someone. It's like everybody knows that everybody else is there because they loved the movie and people just want to have fun in the SST universe. Every game I get into there's people quoting the movie. This is a rare gem and I hope the Squad developers don't ruin it with microtransactions.

I still play games from 20 years ago because they have open ended support and easy to understand programs and scripts that make it so that giving it modern hardware to allow it to run on modern hardware is easier. This game is gonna fail in a few months and be dead because the Devs for some reason think this game design is going to work despite no game surviving longer than a few months with it. No community servers will already kill it off hard, no modding support is whatever, but they'll figure it out, no serber browser in 2023? Yeah, that's bullshit. Game has horrible performance issues, bad gun design, class dynamic is out of whack and makes no sense. Overall this isn't a 'good' game, this is a hype game, a game made in the image of something that'll make a lot of gulliable people buy it quickly like a 40k game (Darktide) and then cut support in a few months to a year and rake in the money. I get what your saying. But say it does drop off after releases, maybe a year after. Will that invalidate the fun of that year? Vermintide 1 and 2 we're very successful and spawned a fairly dedicated little community. They didn't have either of those things list. Hell Divers Deep Rock Galactic Boarderlands series Sea of Theives Warframe None of these had a server browser or official modding support. All are coop! I love modding and wish this had those very features you've mentioned. But they don't immediately discount the fact that this title is one in a very short list of coop large scale titles we've had in the last decade. I'm excited to see what the devs do with it. As it stands. Its the most fun I've had for 25$ in game in quite awhile.

I've gotten so much BS enjoyment out of this game. Legit just memes and quotes like a DND game except it's not Monty Python but instead Starship Troopers and CoD. Had a bunch of moments citing fruit killing skills and reviving someone just to shout "ON YOUR FEET TROOPER WE ARE LEAVING!" during extraction. And of course "Come on you apes, you wanna live forever?!?" and so many people shouting 'ya like that?'. This game is such a gem and I will be playing it relentlessly for the foreseeable future. It's jank and jittery and so rough but I still love it. Can't wait to see how it develops.

I think you overestimate the level of effort they're putting into a game that's already a copy paste of Squad with a Starship troopers skin overtop of things and few maps that use assets from Squad. This is a 70% Squad game with the rest being Starship troopers skins and voicelines and weapons, but they all have the same scripts and coding as Squad weapons and Squad game mechnics. If this was a Mod, oh well, I can understand that, but this is a video game, a full out video game in early access (the biggest scam in the modern age) and it requires you to pay money. This is honestly pathetic.

No issue with them building on the bones of squad if thats what they have done. Hell Squad was built on the lessons learned form there mod Project Reality for BF2. 2. Not releasing modding tools or private server hosting doesn't villainize a dev team. Those are nice features, but if thats not what the devs wan't. So be it. 3. For 25$ without a cash shop or other overly aggressive monetization ploys its a fun game and a good deal. Strong showing for a EA title.

There is fall damage but it’s pretty forgiving. The Hunter’s jet pack can negate the damage entirely if you hit it at the right time. This game has promise but I think it would be much better if you have enough people to play with you with tactical communication.

as for a sci-fi game, its weapon designs are like WW2. starshiptroopers could travel cross the galaxy from alpha quadrant to delta quadrant in a few days for which startrek voyagers took 70 years, basically they can do better than transwarp, but with that scientific knowledge, all they could come up were like shrapnel grenades and big fat land mines

You know if you're on a good team when people ask the hunters if they want first dibs on the rocket launchers....it is the class that can make the best use of them from height. As a tank main I always leave the launchers until I'm sure the hunters don't want them. I'm too slow to maximise the use from a launcher when hunting down grenadiers.

idk, gameplay looks soooooo tame compared to source material (ofc, I mean book, where one mobile infantryman was able to manage fighting literal armies of bugs or other alien lifeform and using tactical training and equipment in its arsenal was able to kill millions throughout his career. Worth to note: all suits had jumpjets, scouting variants were more capable, more tanky variants were less jumpy, anybody could be sniper, possibilities like C4 or rather mini nuclear warheads to poison water supplies, disable planetary electric grid with EMP, etc, were almost obligatory on every other mission)

its great and fun for now as the early access, but the CPU gaming controller sensitivity in ads needs major work and vehicle or something would be nice as huge as maps are. They could also just give everyone jump jets and tweak the current behavior model for the one already in game too. boss bugs need to be more than just big warriors, there were tankers and a plethora of other bugs used throughout the movies, existing games (hint hint), and comics. Hell, a once in a blue moon base horde saturation with a shot at the brain bug as a secondary objective to base survival would be awesome. Seriously I know they don't want to copy the early 2000's game, but it did have some nice features and was pretty awesome for the time period it came out, it was just a beast to run if you didn't have a gaming computer. I feel like it would've been perfect for console rather than cpu, but what are ya gonna do? lol

This game currently needs a LOT of balancing - outside of 'easy' difficulty setting, the carbine is about useless. moving up to the medium or normal difficulty setting doubles the amount of shots you need to put into a bug to kill it, meaning that anything other than point blank, the carbine needs about 40/60 rounds to kill a normal warrior. even on easy its weak. I know they have a lot of development to go, and im sure some of these things will get worked out. but currently the variances are drastic. The default rifle is pretty much the best weapon to use for all 3 classes as an all rounder... and playing with randoms Ive been finding that I really have to do the lions share of work while people come in and learn the game. hope they roll out some buffs to weapons and nerfs to bugs pretty soon otherwise my interest, and that of others, is definitely going to drop off

I blame you Shack for all the people building shock fencing around the cores. Listen to me guys use those on the key outer walls to maintain fields of fire. If the bugs get to the core the rest of the base is already lost. Don't waste one of your strongest & most limited assets on an interior room.

i've been really on the fence if i should get this and after seeing this i'm learning more towards doing so, looks hell fun wonder what the future will bring
