I used to listen to you sing songs from time to time around a fire in the back yard of a certain house in st charles missouri. Watching this made me feel very nostalgic. I think your trade is rare and exceptionally important.

This comment is like a few months late, but at midnight leading into May Day I had this song playing in a call with some comrades of mine. It was their first time hearing it and they loved it. I think we ended up just playing union and leftist music until 2 AM.

David, I love your music - I hope to see you one day, I don't know if you've been to Kansas, but please consider it. Lawrence is a place that you would likely find the largest audience, but Manhattan is a possible alternative.

Your german pronunciation is very good
@drovics7 жыл бұрын
i've spent an average of a few weeks in germany almost every year for the past 17 years or so, so i've never learned to actually understand the language, but i can pronounce it pretty well i think...

Being a hypocrite.. it's "Ravensbrück" (with an Umlaut) and "Die Internationale"

That being said, your pronounciation, David , is much better than in 90% of the big budget Hollywood movies..

What are the chords of this song? I'd love to translate it to clawhammer banjo!!
@drovics5 жыл бұрын
ooh, i'd love to hear it on clawhammer banjo! i have a lot of chords for songs up at www.davidrovics.com/songbook, but i'm not sure if that one's in there. the chords are partially invented ones, and it's all in dadgad, the way i do it, so it's hard for me to explain, with my limited knowledge of what these chords are called, when they're something other than the most standard ones...
