I saw the red blob to the north as it started right when he pulled his units back.... i was immediately like noooooo, not like this... I sat there listening to all the "the buildings are under attack" and "they are trying to break into the buildings" and I'm just screaming at my monitor LOOK AT THE MAP! Solid attempt despite that hiccup at the end.

I am one of those people who was quietly watching your videos and completely unable to beat 800% on the desert, so I am so glad to see this! I have made it to the final wave a handful of times but the economy is just so, so, slow on this map, you're always starved for food due to the lack of farmland and space because of how difficult it is to clear due to the noise. I find that a start on this map without either good wood OR good food (I'd say this start was passable for wood and very, very good for food by the desert tileset standards) and I can rarely make it past the day 20 rando waves.

I've got to admit that I only beat the first 4 maps on 100 days and the last 2 on 120 days (but all at max infected population). Although I've only played them once or twice each. But I think I needed more tries on desert compared to caustic, because the low amount of food makes this one very challenging, and even Ballistas can be very risky if Mutants are anywhere nearby.

Yay! I was just wanting to see another playthrough on this map type! I used to follow the game on release when this was the hardest. After discovering your channel a few months ago it's cool to see all the new things and harder settings lol P.S. as someone who has never played the game I would love to watch a playthrough of the campaign! Maybe via a secondary channel perhaps?

ahaha 😄 happens to me all the time! looking at your mini map, I actually realized you didn't see the infection going, but when you are playing, you got so many things to do that you often forget the mini map and just end up having your entire base done for... You also did not hear the alerts "they are infecting your building" .. there is just so much 1 brain can do, right? This game is so penalizing and really works on one's frustration level. Good efforts on this map!

That mayor lucifer had insane value for the early mid-clearing. Be warned early Thanatos is a trap, especially on the desert map as their shots cause 500 noise likely aggroing triple-digit zombies likely a death sentence early mid-game. Food Wonder is almost always needed on this map. Most of us think this map is harder than 900% Edit: Kensei is calming microing map clearing while the colony is being infected for like 1.5 minutes straight with most of the minimap flashing red and the announcer is saying that the infection is spreading.

About potential campaign rerun - skipping hero missions and swarm ones would be absolutely fine. Hero missions especially aren't even really hard in the first place, just take some time. For swarm missions though, while most aren't really that thrilling - especially later ones which are trivial due to the upgrades but some earlier ones at first weren't that easy so maybe uploading selected few only and for others just briefly mentioning them on the starts of other missions? Though hero missions - loved the campaign but those I really don't want to even see again xD

It is just more difficult but you can replace Snipers with Soldiers and try to get Titans earlier. I've done it with only rangers although that was pre Mutants I think

Hey, early on you were capped on wood for a while, I was basically told that this is bad (pretty big beginner lol), how come you didn't spend it on some random walls (1x1 etc.) ?

Usually it's important to not cap on gold and spend your gold. If you have decent wood income some capping will happen, if it is bad on the other hand you want to spend it before capping but only on things you currently need. Random walls would just waste my gold that I need for other things.

It took me 42 remakes to find a map half as good as this one! 😳 This has plenty of food, wood, stone and iron all within easy distance. 41 of my maps were missing 1 of those resources (they were at the edge of the map ☹️), and 20 of the maps were missing 2 OR MORE of those resources! I must've had a mega-unlucky run. I did do it though, finally. 😮‍💨🫡 Edit: That ending... must've been a harpy or 2.
